This was a beautiful old building and expected great things but entered the building past a really small galley kitchen lined with microwaves and staffed by teenagers..... should have given us a clue. Ordered garlic chilli prawns that seemed to have neither ingredient and was over £1 per prawn. I could have produced the same food from Iceland ! This... More

We ate here on a Friday night and found the place to be very nice. Good selection of food - both sea food and others. The service was good and the prices, whilst not being cheap, were not over the top either. I can see what other people have said about there being little atmosphere and the walls are painted... This restaurant lacks character. It is very bare and much like eating in a cafe. They had candles on the tables, but didn't bother lighting them. However, the fish we had was superb. I had a smoked haddock dish and my husband had the cod loin, both of which were delicious but let down by overcooked vegetables. It is a... More

Booked for Saturday evening. Friendly staff. Limited starters on menu. Enjoyed the trout. A little dated inside and had to go outside to the toilets. Otherwise a pleasant meal.

Excellent atmosphere, excellent food, excellent staff. We had a really lovely time at this pretty restaurant. We hadn't booked and needed somewhere to accommodate 3 adults and a baby. We were made very welcome and enjoyed the delicious food which was reasonably priced.Altogether a very pleasant evening.

It may not have had the sea view enjoyed by some other restaurants nearby but the Inglenook had a very pleasant ambience and the service was very friendly and welcoming. One of our party was in a wheelchair and access would have been a problem had she not been able to manage the half-a-dozen or so steps down to the... More
