Award winning Fish & Chips

We had the best haddock and chips and cod and chips today in the sunshine overlooking Fishguard harbour. Great value for money, the regular portion is 7 pound and a special offer at a slightly smaller portion for 5 pound. They were the best we ever tasted and all COVID precautions in place. We took our own ketchup and cutlery, but wooden fork and sachets are provided. We will certainly make a return visit with our friends

Fantastic Fish & Chips + super waffles

Would highly recommend. Beautiful piece of fish with really nice chips. Freshly cooked and great service. Was also special waffle night and had salted caramel waffle - again freshly cooked - delicious! Wouldn't ho anywhere else for fish & chips. Their top 10 in the UK award is well deserved.

Clic and collect in covid times

The quality of our fish supper and brilliant organisation of this family run business during such difficult times has brought me to write this review. It is so hard for everyone but This family have really achieved the most professional and slick run social distancing clic and collect service for their award winning fish and chip shop. An outstanding ..no fuss app which covers any eventuality.. book your own timeslot. is salt and vinegar required as well as an extensive menu...so easy to navigate.. loads of kid friendly options too..very very reasonably priced and absolutely delicious.. If the clic and collect app had been set up out side of lock down I wouldn't have been surprised.. it's a tremendous addition to an already excellent business. Well done all@Hooked.. we really enjoy our weekly treat.

Overpriced and below average

Visited quite a few times over the years. Positives: Handy and good online ordering service available. Great icecream all locally made ingredients. Clean environment and dressed covid appropriate. Negatives: Milkshake was tasteless and waterered down consistency and in a small container. I ordered mint icecream milkshake and I was left thinking...Where's the mint and nice thickness. For the price paid £4.50 was left feeling very disappointed. I ordered regular chips and chicken burger. My thoughts are that too many chips and a teeny weeny burger roll and teeny weeny burger. I would suggest a bigger burger and lessen down on the super size chips. My chicken was dried out and not juicy. For the price I paid and the quality and quantity I received I felt very very disappointed. I have been trip advisoring for a long time and the majority are positive and unfortunately I cannot say that this place is going in that direction for me. I have been to award winning establisments before but feel that this one is an award winning failure. Please take feedback on this and deal with criticism in an adult way and make things better.

Went there as it was named as one of the best.

Maybe because of their success the food there was not what we expected. Its pricey and we found the chips a bit hard and the fish a bit greasy. We had to que (no issue) as it was summer and they are only open on certain days and hours. Their ice cream was delicious thou.

Ignore the negative reviews below. The food is delicious and their response to the awful pandemic we are currently living in is amazing - ensuring that their customers and staff are as safe as possible. They have made it very clear on their website, and on their shop windows, that ‘click and collect’ is their priority service; and my goodness, it runs like clockwork. If people are incapable of reading these notices and respecting the amazing mitigation’s this business is putting in place, they really do not deserve the wonderful food. Thank you Hooked.

An insult to walk-in customers

There were only three customers ahead of us when we joined the queue and yet we had to wait an hour and ten minutes to receive our order. Click and collect customers are given priority whilst people actually at the shop are treated as second class and made to wait. Isn't our money just as good? They won't get my business again. The food wasn't even hot. Barely warm and cold by the time we finished eating. Outrageous treatment.Diabolical customer service.

Best fish and chips ever

We normally can't finish full portions of fish and chips but could not stop eating our food from here. Everything was freshly cooked. The fish was gorgeous and batter cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and the displayed provenance of the food jusr topped off the meal. This is the most fantastic chippy in the country.

Fantastic food - best Fish & Chips in Pembrokeshire!

Living locally we decided to give the Fish & Chips here a try one evening after hearing good things about the food. We were not disappointed! Having tried other local fish bars over the years - Something's Cooking, and Coronation Chip Shop we had high expectations. Yet we were even more impressed with Hooked @31! The fish, chicken and chips were all delicious. After our most recent visit, I felt compelled to leave a review for the team. We used the click and collect service on a busy Friday evening and the gentleman who had our order ready could not do more to help. We asked to add a drink and some of the ice cream that is made on site. Even though this meant the gentleman had to set up a new tab at a very busy time, I felt like a really valued customer and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to the team for yet another delicious fish supper!

Best fish and chips!

We had the special - Saithe fillet and chips. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked as were the chips. There is a board displaying where the cod and haddock was caught and which variety of potato the chips were! The place is immaculate and the service excellent!

Fantastic Fishguard Fish & chips!.

It was a Friday in Fishguard and we just fancied fish and chips. We were not disappointed, in fact we were both full of praise for the food we ate. We ordered on line through their “ click and collect” system , which we found very useful and easy to use. The food was ready exactly as the time expected on line. Lovely welcome once inside the fish and chip shop. Our regular cod and chips x 2 were piping hot, very flavoursome and tasty. Would strongly recommend.

Perfect fish supper

Never fail to be impressed by the quality of the fish and chips from our favourite chippy. Tucked into fish suppers again recently. Truly special. Staff were super organised, particularly during this difficult time, with the virus worrying everyone. Huge thank you and I really do wish I lived nearer. Oh and we went back the following day for the ice-cream! Always like to try something different and can strongly recommend the banana flavour.

Beautiful fish in shell like batter

Ordered 2 fish suppers online pickup at selected time slot Missed the Layby outside to pick up just round the corner from the bus stop and walked down from the coop Friendly staff, covid secure screens Huge hot fresh portions ordered large and small fish supper. Cooked to perfection with quality ingredients. Beautiful large flakes of fresh white cod in a crispy shell like batter. Clean cut chips lovely golden colour and sweet mushy peas with a tartare sauce sachet. Highly recommended the best fish and chips by a mile

A complete delight

I had just driven 200miles heading for the ferry and i fancied some thing to eat before boarding. I turner the corner and there it was. Hooker@31, a well presented fish and chip shop. I parked up and wandered in, to be greeted warmly by the staff. They had a good selection of fare, i went for good old fish and chips, i was superb, the batter was light and crispy, the cod was flaky and juicy and the chips, well i wished i had ordered a larger portion. Can'not wait for my return journey, i will be stopping again. If your passing any were near fish guard stop and give them a try.

A perfect end to my holiday!

Walked past the shop while on holiday and couldn’t resist the urge for some fish and chips. Service was excellent and in these covid times, the wait was not long and was away with my order and out the door. Found a bench nearby and started to eat my lunch. The fish was superb and crispy and the chips were the best I have ever had; because it was in a box, the chips had a nice snap to them even while walking to find somewhere to eat them! Decent portion size and May have to come back for some ice cream soon! Can see why this place has so many awards! All the staff were lovely and will definitely recommend this place to all my goody friends! Defiantly a must to all that visit Fishguard!
