Went for lunch, pleasant reception, very helpful, nice table in comfortable surroundings. Quality of the food was good, not overly priced, if anything perhaps food service being a little slow, but well worth the wait. This is a newly refurbished establishment with a theatrical theme, watch out for the 007's in the Gents! Happy to recommend this establishment.

Sunday roast at the refurbished "Copper Horse" was satisfying. The roast beef I had was very tender [though only just "warm" not "hot"] and with the horseradish sauce it was nearly divine! Nicely presented by an attentive staff member, eating here returns to a comfortable and enjoyable experience after its few months of closure for refurbishment. Tables nicely located to... More

Friendly attentive staff, lovely food - Recommend the Steak. Kids are normally a bit picky but they polished off the lot (Pizza for one and Burger for the other).

Previously dined here and was looking forward to a birthday treat, we were not disappointed, the food was excellent, the staff friendly without being in your face and the refurbished look it very classy. Will definatly be back.

Food was good apart from monkfish stew which was over cooked, sauce quite dry, seemed as if had been put in a very hot oven or microwave, flavour of the sauce not so nice.

Since my last visit, owners Nick and Sandra Thomas have extensively refurbished this lovely eatery and re-opening just three days before my visit for lunch. Great car parking! The food and service are truly great - indeed the best fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce ever! My companion's Bloody Mary looked superb and worthy of any 5... More

Place looks really smart after a very tasteful refurbishment feels more like you are sitting in the Ivy all dark wood and green leather Only just reopened but well organised cheerful efficient staff and I really enjoyed the salmon fishcakes and the fish stew

My partner and I attended the Copper Horse restaurants soft opening on 13/05/16, we had a leisurely drive down from Sunderland and arrived at 15:15. I initially met John who seemed to be the project manager who was putting final touches to the external fixings. We where then shown by to our cottage the Novello cottage. this is a 3... More

There's only one thing I need to state in this review: my husband said this was the best steak pie he had ever eaten. He's a tough man to please and takes his pies very seriously. None of this puff pastry lid nonsense. A proper pie, in pastry. We left utterly satisfied & in food coma heaven.

What can I say, amazing service! Amazing food! Had my daughters christening there, they set up and decorated the whole room, looked after every person that attended, and people wouldn't stop complimenting the food which was a hot and cold buffet. Lovely place defiantly be a regular customer! Thanks
