Stopped here while driving back to Dublin off the motorway. What a find! Good local Irish food, served with a smile. Good choice of drinks, too. The castle had been renovated in the 1970's and, then, in 1990's converted into the Restaurant. There is a banqueting hall but we ate in a smaller, cosier room. Excellent place.
Been here numerous times for both lunch and evening dinner. A great little restaurant, always a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is always presented really well and tastes amazing. Prices are very reasonable too. The only thing I would criticise is the potato chips they serve. They really need to be addressed or changed. Nearly anyone I know that... More
Dined here on numerous occasions. Can honestly say I never had a bad meal here. Service very quick and food always top notch. Despite it being an actual castle it never feels cold or uncomfortable.
Visited on March 1st for my nieces Confirmation. We had a party of 26 - Adults & Children. The food was excellent and plentiful, various dishes around the table - pasta, roast, steak, salmon, and all of it was perfect and tasted fantastic! I had the vegetarian pasta and homemade vegetable soup... what can I say, heaven!! Very busy restaurant,... More
Wife and I stopped for lunch, on our way to Galway. Place was extremely busy (always a good sign, in my opinion), yet we were seated, orders taken and food delivered with 30 minutes. Food was more than ample and well presented. Will return.
I have never been disappointed any time I have been here. The food is excellent, staff are friendly and the castle setting makes it an unusual place to dine. If you are passing it is well worth a visit.
Staff, Food etc. were second to none. Love the old stone walls. I would not hesitate to go back. Hopefully we get the chance to visit in March.
