This is a great local restaurant serving beautiful meals prepared from fresh local sources. They have a wide selection of local beers as well as ample choice of wines and spirits. There is a set meal on Sundays, and a la carte the rest of the week. It is worth travelling to Chiloe just to go to this restaurant! Even... More

Two different nights, two different menus and BOTH had great choices! The weekend menu was a set full course meal but had options at each course. The price was very reasonable for the quality and creativity. What a pleasant find! Stop by earlier in the day to make reservations or you may miss out. The chef is a lovely man,... More

We had dinner on a Saturday night. Very quiet, very friendly, welcoming, and attentive service. We adored the location and the food! Try the causeo (both centolla and pescado are delicious!). The merluza was also quite a surprise! The presentation of the dishes is very peculiar and fashionable. Good and reasonably priced wine list. Highly recommended.

Excellent meal in a great restaurant with interesting decor. Highly recommend. No vegetarian food on menu but they weren't fazed and put together a lovely meal.

A lovely, small restaurant with a great ambience- they played cool jazz tunes and it has a view of the water. The waiters are attentive and friendly. I tried the eel (congo) with stuffed eggplant and it was amazing. It went well with a glass of carmenere wine. I definitely recommend Mar y Canela! It's not the most affordable place,... More

This is a small restaurant with very few tables. It's also the place that we've had our best dining experience since we got to Latin America in October. The service is attentive without being annoying and the menu and wine list, although short, are very well thought through. The ambiance is very calm, with great views over the water and... More

In spite of the exquisite decor and stunning location I was so very underwhemed by my dining experience at Mar y Canela. My crab au gratin, although beautifully garnished was loaded with shell fragments and so incredibly flavorless and shredded that it tasted canned. The very gracious server described the desserts to me and I selected one she called "caramel... More

Wonderful Palafito restaurant serving fish and meat. Ate here last night. Lovely welcome and service. Delicious home made bread/scone. Waitress recommended the Hake Cheek and Roasted River Eel... we had tried neither before. Both dishes were excellent - packed with flavour, lots of fish and good potato dishes on the side. Good beer and wine menu too. Great value for... More

Went for dinner and thought ourselves lucky to find it open. I felt they thought we were lucky to be served. Sitting at the table, we eventually got the menu and an immediate exclamation that we want oysters. (Did we, do we?). We ordered under the 'why not' principle. They were fine, but we soon grew tired of waiting for... More
