Fred's Fish House seems overrated in my opinion. It's TA rating is #2 out of 80 establishments seems to be quite a stretch. It was our first time to dine there (and likely our last). We just were passing through so possibly this is the best fish in town by default. Further, the service was average at best and the... More

We visited this restaurant for the first time today as new residents. We were excited to try it based on previous reviews. We found the service deplorable and basically non-existent. Grilled walleye was dry, small, and thin. Fried catfish was overdone and dry. We will not be going back.

I had the Cajun catfish. The service was great! The fish was cooked perfectly! Friendly staff! I will be returning.

The first impression as you come into the building is so-so, but when you get in and look through the back windows the view is stunning. Ask to be seated in that area. The wait staff is very friendly. The food was very good. I had the coconut shrimp and my wife had the halibut which was just slightly to... More

Since we live in the area we eat at Fred's quite often. People drive from all around the area to eat at Fred's. The Fried Fish is their specialty. They get it right everytime. They have other things to eat and I have tried several others but you just can't beat their fish, hush puppies and french fries!!

I've had the fried catfish and the Angus steaks. Both are very good. The catfish is better than I've had anywhere else. Sides (Cole Slaw, Hushpuppies, Baked Potato) were also very good. This is my favorite place to eat when travelling to Mountain Home.

We always have the fish and it is always perfect. While you dine, enjoy the beautiful view of our Lake Norfork.

Fred's Fish House is an icon for the residents of the Mountain Home area. If you want fried cat fish it is known as the place to go. Some of the tables overlook Norfolk Lake and during seasonal weather there is outdoor sitting which is quite nice.

We have dined at Fred's twice. Both times the food was outstanding and it was very consistent. I had not like catfish until I tried it at Fred's. I will always order catfish at Fred's. If you like fish, Fred is a must!

We had an early dinner at Fred's following a glowing recommendation from our grandson. He was right! Everything we ate was good: catfish, hush puppies, slaw, fries, and pickled tomatoes. Our waitress was outstanding, too. Highly recommend this place if you enjoy catfish and all of the fixin's!
