Went here for evening meal whilst staying at the Albanach as dinner not available there that night. I guess its not really fair to compare the experience with a fine dinning restaurant. The pub was busy and lively and we had the impression the pub was a bit busier than it expected to be as staff looked a little harassed.... More

Booked this at10pm previous night. Made very welcome. Small and large plate dishes on menu suited us well. Food really gorgeous. Staff really helpful. Pitty about loud mouth lads at nearby table.

What more is there to say - battered fish was fresh, batter crispy and no grease, cracking chips and they even smashed the peas up a bit to try and be fashionable to meet the Londoners' needs :-) Freindly staff here, couodn't be more helpful, made a great evening, and the view over the harbour in Lchinver from the pubs'... Booked a week earlier but given a table in the bar rather than the room overlooking the river and loch. Very good menu with varied choice. 3 of us had battered haddock, chips and minted peas which were considered the best ever tasted (the haddock had probably been landed at the harbour 400 yards away the same day so was... We stopped in Lochinver recently while driving the NC500. We were mostly camping but my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a meal out given the weather was not ideal. What a decision that turned out to be! We were greeted warmly by a charming young chap at the bar. We were told that there was not a... More

I can't really fault the food which was tasty, well cooked and well priced. There were many more fish options on the menu than meat or veggie options so be aware of that before you book. My meal was a bit spoiled because the plate was stone cold so the meal wasn't as hot as it should have been -... More

The food is good. The restaurant is pub-style and none the worse for that. But, the organisation of nearly everything - booking online did not work; booked customers were left standing and waiting when they arrived; requests at the table had to be made twice; nearby customers were driven to distraction because they could not get their bill etc -...
