Our family went out for a fun dinner. They were very busy. We waited about 20 minutes. When we were seated we waited again. No greeting, no welcoming just what would you like? Food was good- waiter very busy with others. Finally we were given chips and salsa and the dinner was good.

Found this gem while staying in Bakersfield for an event at Buttonwillow Raceway Park. Great food, great service, great setting. This place is very large inside but very comfortable for small and large groups.

Located in downtown area. A great place to eat while you are out shopping. It is off of highway 99. Food is appetizing. Top it off with my favorite drink.... A lime margarita with salt around the rim and just sit back and relax...it is just heavenly.

I've been coming to the Mexicali every since I was a child were I developed many fond memories of both the food and atmosphere. Growing up in Bakersfield and I'm sure that the Mexicali greatly influenced my love of Mexican cuisine after eating here with family and friends so many, many times. That was 15 years ago and I've since... More

Mexicali downtown, is easy to get to and plenty of parking. A nice place for family and friends to gather and visit over lunch and dinner. I recommend the burritos, I don't have the sauce on top but add melted cheese, delicious. Only complaint is the ice tea glasses are too small, but the wait staff is quick to refill... More

Very popular for drinks and locals love the food. For me (growing up in East LA) its not hot enough and bland. I like Mexican food with a kick. Even covered with their salsa it's bland.
