This was our 2nd visit to Sweet Basil and our lunch was great. I read the reviews and decided to try the 1/2 portobello sandwich, soup and salad. OMG the sandwich was wonderful and I almost wished I had a whole sandwich; but the meatball/cabbage soup was also delicious and wonderful on a cold day. I would order this again!... More

We have been returning to Sweet Basil for several years now. They are a good place to bring friends. Staff is always attentive, the food is done very well and the atmosphere is pleasant. The food, has always been superb! I like to chicken parmesan, my wife the flank steak. Our friends were equally satisfied. MAKE A RESERVATION!!! no reservation... More

Every time we go to Big Bear I have to hit Sweet Basil Bistro and have the most delicious grilled portobello mushroom panini with misto. This is the first place I ever had a mushroom sandwich and Sweet Basil's sandwich has become the gold standard and its unbeatable!

Small restaurant on the edge of the Village. It was busy mid-afternoon and they were also catering an event, so I suspect it could be very busy at peak hours. Our server was an absolute delight, making sure we had a nice time and a nice meal. The food was quite good; one of the better ones I had in... More

Great food and service. We had their half sandwich with soup & salad. The cream of spinach soup was delicious! The salad and sandwich very tasty as well. Highly recommend. The waitress was friendly and fun too.

Catering was for 17 of us and we were extremely happy with the service from beginning to end (meaning the clean up). The food was delicious and we had a lovely variety. The garlic shrimp were the best I've had---A Must Try. Definitely recommend. If you don't want the catering, you can always go to the restaurant.

Sweet Basil is cute. No doubt. Tiny..maybe twelve tables. If you are a couple, you get a tiny table, so don't order a lot of food! There was nowhere to put it...made it a bit uncomfortable and crowded. Staff is super friendly, food was good. A family place most definitely....and a local place....tons of small children. Happy and angry ones.... More
