Ate there with my sister, wife, and son on December 31 2019. The food was awesome. We all had Sally’s Sand Dabs, and they were incredible. The French fries were hot and lightly salted, the clam chowder unbelievable, and the Key Lime pie over the top. Our server, Chad, was really excellent. The Lure is one of my favorite restaurants in the world, and I travel a lot.

Very helpful server who was very knowledgeable about the different dishes and offered options. We ordered sand dabs, a local seafood; branzino, a mild white fish; tequila lime shrimp, and white clam chowder. Did not like the sweet potato saute, wasn't quite what my wife thought it would be. She told the server about the side and it was removed from our bill. All of the seafood dishes were fresh and seasoned well.

This restaurant is just Amazing!! Every plate is just made to perfection. We came early and had an outside table right away, but when we left there was a 2 hour wait. They must be doing something right! Start with the bread, homemade, warm, with homemade butter. We had Crab Cakes and Ahí ceviche to die for. Then we ordered Clam Chowder and spicy sea food pasta. They did not have the latter in the menu, but the waiter was very accommodating and had the chef prepare it for us. The service was impecable! Jack was an excellent waiter, we appreciate his cordiality and friendliness. He made a mistake in the type of ceviche we ordered so he brought it for free and our other plate came in right on time. This is a definitely come back even thou we drove 1.5 hours to eat here.

The food and service were excellent! The waiter was very knowledgeable about what was being served and I left mine in his hands. My wife ordered a different dish and said it was very good. Our friends suggested Lures and had something different, All was good.

The food has taken a small step backwards but the red chowder, crab cakes and sand dabs are still outstanding. My favorite was the cioppino but it's a lot skimpier now. Like most places, portions have shrunk and prices have increased but that's the price to be paid for the shutdown. At least they survived and that's a good thing.

In spite of the pandemic, we were seated in about 20 minutes. You do get a printed menu which, of course, is mostly seafood. I am handicapped and they provided good seating for us. Our server was friendly, but not to the point of being too friendly. We decided to go with mostly starters. We had the spicy ceviche, the clam chowder, a lobster roll, and a shrimp salad. All of them were great. Our total came up to $64 and it was worth it! They were not in a hurry to push us out of our seats. It was our first visit and we would certainly come again.

Always Excellent fish. Good side dishes. Love the spinach and cream corn. Most of the time good service. The last time the waitress got a little mixed up. But still enjoyable meal . They are always so crowded so you do you ever wait they do not accept reservations but it’s worth the wait.

Stopped by on a Tuesday evening around 8pm. Although they were very busy at this popular but pricey local seafood restaurant, we were seated right away after arrival. Service was very good but the only negative here was the noise level in the restaurant was quite high and bothersome. Unfortunately, there is no sound deadening ceiling panels so the noise resonates within the restaurant making if somewhat difficult to have a normal conversation at the table. After waiting 30 mins after ordering, our food was delivered to our table. Linguine with Clams was served hot and was delicious. Linguine pasta was not over-cooked – thanks chef! Pop Rock Shrimp was also served hot and was quite delicious cooked with a very tasty and spicy sauce. Crisp Calamari was also served hot and was crispy and delicious. Asked for bread and butter but the bread was a bit too tough to eat and they had no un-salted butter. Menu items are pricey – $7.00 for a large bottle of San Pellegrino. Overall, we were quite pleased with this very popular local seafood spot in Camarillo and we will likely return.

We’ve been to Lure more than a dozen times since it opened. It’s always excellent, from the well prepared food to the friendly service to the generous bar. Favorite dishes include the seasonal salad (be sure to add grilled salmon), Veracruz platter (aka grilled fish tacos) and the fish & chips. The sesame seared ahi tuna is one of the best plates of sushi-grade tuna you’re going to ever have. Our favorite sides are the Brussels sprouts (the sweet and sour or maple and miso makes these irresistible) and potato cakes. The only downside is that Lure is so popular, the wait can be extensive on Friday nights, Saturday afternoon and nights, and Sunday afternoons. Just know that the wait is worth it.

We came with a large group of 29, with a reservation, and were very satisfied with food and service, We tried a large variety of entrees, sides and deserts and everyone was pleased with food and both servers. What really amazed many of us was the greeting and departure care by a young man at the front, seemingly serving as a cohost. We were so impressed by his cheerful welcome, holding the door open for us entering and leaving, that we asked his name, and as an owner of two businesses, if we were anywhere nearby he would have a job with us tomorrow. Should we be back through with a group I would request him for our server and that is not belittling the wonderful service we got tonight from our servers.

Our experience was greatly enhanced by our server. He told us which fish were fresh-caught and which were not. He explained the textures and tastes of different methods of preparing menu items. He also suggested appropriate side dishes. His recommendations were borne out by the choices we made. One of our entrees required a little extra time to prepare, so our waiter brought out the other three orders and encouraged us to start eating so they wouldn’t get cold. We all agreed that our food was delicious and were glad we chose that restaurant. We also enjoyed the nautical-themed decorations.

People kept going ahead of us. We had to remind the front desk we had not been called. It took another 5 minutes to give our order to the waiter. We had one order of Sand Dabs, two orders of Linguini with Clams. two oders of Crispy Fish and Chips and a spicy Salmon burger. We had sweet potsto fries, cold slaw and sauteed spinach as our sides. All of the food was great. The Fish and chips dinner had three generous pieces of breaded fish. All entrees had generous portions.

Just happen to find this place on a visit to Camarillo. Wanted to eat something different. Glad we came. Not sure what to expect but seems pretty busy which is good indicator food is good. Not disappointed. Had a salad n clam chowder n husband ordered a fish plate. Good size portions. Baked sour dough bread is delicious. There was a 15 minute wait but not bad at all

If you want fish, this is your place to go! The decor is spot on, service couldn't be better. The menu offered a wide variety, especially of fish; however, the fish & chips were greasy, heavily breaded and the toast on the shrimp pasta overcooked. We certainly would return.

Lure was a very contemporary restaurant serving outstanding seafood. I really enjoyed the oyster bar. Plenty of choices of oysters to chose from and very fresh tasting. The bar service was professional and made excellent martinis. Really recommend this restaurant for a group of friends or business people.
