What is the essence of a great gastropub? Bartender Levi and chef Chris really surprised me with their flexibility- setting me up with a pear based caponata ans a custom made vegetarian dish based on a halibut entre ... Lindsey , one of the servers , really made me feel at home... Very chill spot - superb food , extensive... More

Stopped in for a couple of appetizers & wow! The crudo was amazing! Served on a salt block, it was absolutely delicious! We also had the bacon wrapped corn dogs & they were great too! Will definitely be back, great selection of wine, beers & craft cocktails.

We were here for a late dinner on a Thursday night and sat on their porch. We had their dirty fries as an appetizer, which were great, just a little spicy with some peppers which I had to stay away from. I then had their braised short ribs, which were tasty, and the grilled brussel sprouts were pretty good as... More

NIce place to go with friends for a craft beer and sandwich. Veggie lasagne and burgers are good. Delicious French fries.

The food is outstanding--everything is delicious--and the prices are totally decent. The bar program is an event of its own. Levi's enthusiasm for handcrafted infusions, syrups and bitters, not to mention overall knowledge, is contagious and exciting. You can see the pride and thoughtfulness in every drink and on every plate. The entire staff is welcoming and I have always... More

While vacationing in CA, my husband and I found The Compass, which is located on the 2nd floor of a shopping area in Carlsbad. It has a cool pub vibe and a nice amount of beers on tap as well as unique-sounding cocktails (my husband had a beer but I didn't have anything, although the cocktails sounded great). We both... We waited Too long for a greet and service to order a drink. Then after we finally got our drink we waited Too long for our order to be taken. The server had... More

I popped in for a quick snack on a late afternoon, sat at the bar and checked out the HH menu. I had a glass of the 7 Terraces with the peppers to eat for $4. The locals dominated this cozy bar. As an out of towner, not a place to linger. Head downstairs to Gaia for a cup of... More

Love this little place for excellent food! The short ribs were superb, beet salad spectacular! Appetizer of portabella mushroom fries (yes, that's correct, portabella mushroom fries), will have me stopping by often. Those with a Hendricks and tonic are a wonderful evening opener. Would like this place to be a bit larger, maybe some place with a view, but with... More
