Busy restaurant with some nice dishes on the menu, otherwise just your regular dinner menu although the wine menu is very extensive and deserves some perusing! I am always intrigued when the chef decides not to have salt & pepper on the table and then...More

This is one of the nicest restaurants in Carmel area. Many varieties of wines, good ambiance and pleasant staff. Little pricy but it's worth it. The food is really good.

This was a great brunch spot. With their outdoor seating tucked behind the building off the main street, it's very tranquil. The service was excellent and I loved their menu - not to mention phenomenal wine list. Would definitely go back!

The decor, atmosphere, and quality of service at Grasing's met my high expectations quite well. The sommelier was especially helpful in finding the right wine from their very extensive (and rather expensive!) list. Our Grgich Hills Chardonnay was a very good choice. Our first course,...More

Great service and lots of menu options. The grilled artichoke appetizer and herb crusted sea bass were amazing--portions are more than generous. Would definitely go back to Grasing's.

I seldom give a 5 star...if dessert had been better it woulda been 5. Amazing food matched by terrific service marred only by a disappointing dessert. 5:30 reservations on a Sunday...quiet. I'm glad it was quiet as the tables are really close together. I was...More

We had such a nice time at Grasings, recommended to us by our hotel. Both the meat (lamb) and fish (seabass) were beautifully prepared, with great complimentary vegetables composed beneath. I think the thing that impressed me the most was the flavor, both delicate and...More

My wife and I dined here last Friday Night. Asparagas Soup, Grilled Skirt Steak, and two glasses of top rate Pinot Noir. Excellent Service.

Description
As a restaurant with an impressive contemporary menu, Grasing’s offers the finest coastal cuisine paired with a ‘Wine Spectator’ awarding winning wine list featuring the best California wines. For a true Carmel experience, enjoy dinner on the pet-friendly patio.

In March of 1998 Kurt opened the door to his namesake restaurant: Grasing’s. In an impressive first year it received enthusiastic reviews and was voted Best New Restaurant and Best Chef by the readers of Adventures in Dining Magazine. Grasings has been featured in Bon Appetit Magazine’s Best of the Year issue in 2004, and was awarded Carmel Business Association’s Business of the Year award that same year. Carmel Magazine proclaimed Grasing’s the Critic’s Choice. Grasing’s was awarded Carmel Business Association’s Restaurant of the Year as well as a Celebrated Chef of the Year Award from the American Culinary Federation – Monterey Chapter, in 2007. In 2013 Grasing’s was voted Best Restaurant in Carmel by the readers of the Monterey County Weekly. Carmel Pine Cone Readers Poll named Grasing’s the Best Restaurant for a Steak in 2014 and 2015. Open Table diners conferred a 2015 Diner’s Choice Award on Grasing’s and Trip Advisor has given Grasing’s a Certificate of Excellence in 2015 and 2016. 2016 also brought Grasing’s a win for the Best Restaurant for a Special Occasion in 2016 from the Carmel Pine Cone Readers Poll.

In 2010, Kurt revamped Grasing’s by constructing a new bar and lounge along with completing a restaurant make-over. The warm hues and contemporary decor in the restaurant and bar gives Grasing’s an even more inviting atmosphere, giving it a new look with the same great food and first-rate service to which guests are accustomed.
