We drove down here last week before heading back to Carmel and Santa Cruz for the day. The fairly short drive South of Carmel was SO worth it. The setting, inside and out, is fabulous. We went outside and sat in some Adirondack chairs while we waited for our lunches to be prepared. A big bonus was that the burgers... More

This is a unique place in the area full of small vista points and tremendous private properties. Here you will not only have a good lunch or dinner but you will also enjoy the perfect views of the Pacific Ocean and the impressive cliffs. There's a terrace which is great in a sunny day. Service is good may be with... More

My husband and I had never been to this restaurant until yesterday. We drove down the coast south of Carmel and stopped for a late lunch. The restaurant is perched on the top of a cliff-like ridge and offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean both north and south. We split a Caesar salad and a fabulous burger, while we... More

Make a reservation for the latest seating, which is usually at sunset. Venture down the trail to grab some photos of the view. It's absolutely fantastic. Advanced photo tip: Perfect op to use 3 stop hard edge Grad ND filter.

We discovered this on our most recent trip to Monterey since the road to ventana/post ranch was closed due to a collapsing bridge. This place has a great view of the coast and the bixby bridge. Lots of outdoor seating and adirondack chairs to lounge while taking in the sun and view. Food is pretty standard -- think sandwiches and... More

Took the short drive south from Monterey to Rocky Point restaurant, for lunch. Three of us were seated immediately, without reservations. I had a delicious burger and my friends had the grilled chicken sandwich. Generous portions, nice presentation, STUNNING VIEWS of the coast.

The views from this restaurant are not to be believed they are so great. And surprise! The food is good too. And so is the service. This place is a well run fountain of hospitality. We had a seafood chowder here to die for. The restaurant has been here since 1947, so the latest and greatest have all dined here... More

The view at sunset was exquisite. The service was great. My dining partner and I ordered the fresh seafood bass special. Mine was overcooked, and the manager was very willing to take it back. The second time around was excellent. Definitely worth a short trip from Monterey or Carmel.

The view is indisputably exquisite. Service was good - happy and friendly. However, food was poor...worst excuse for a Mediterranean plate I have ever had. The hummus was inedible. Unbelievable that the 'white beans' served on the platter were a sparse collection of about 6 large beans crammed into a tiny plastic salad dressing container (the kind you get at... More
