We were quickly seated. The menu was basic but the food was good. The deep fried artichokes are always good especially with ranch dressing. The roast beef was hot, flavorful and tender. My son had the chili burger and he said it was very good. We were checked on and given drink refills. Not bad and it hit the spot before heading to... More

We stop here every time we come home from camping. They have some very good fried artichokes and even better fresh ones. We get a couple of bags of the hearts and at least 4-6 large fresh ones every time.

I absolutely enjoy the Giant Artichoke restaurant in Castroville California. I always have the giant steamed artichoke because it is always delicious. Their chicken grilled chicken salad is absolutely delicious as well. It also comes with grilled garlic bread that is so tasty. They have an excellent salad bar that includes Jello and fruits.

Went to have a taste of great artichokes, but ended up getting the fried artichokes. It was a disappointment because the hearts were not as large as I had expected and the flavor wasn't there. I took the batter off, and got better flavor. But, having said that, if you go, just order straight artichokes with mayonnaise! Also got chicken... More

Order the artichoke platter with 10fried artichoke hearts, a GIANT steamed artichoke, and some fresh baked artichoke bread - you won't regret it! Nice menu for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. And get some fried chokes to GO.

My first introduction to artichokes 'in the wild'. Fresh grown right in Castroville. Deliciously prepared any number of ways and the market adjacent has all sizes of artichokes and other fruit and vegetables and other items for sale. It's just a classic for me and a must visit when in the area.

Kind of a hole in the wall. One guy running the entire place seemingly alone, rather taciturn I felt like an interloper daring to ask for service. It was technically okay, but the bad vibes kind of surrounded the place. Several tables had not been cleaned and just kind of sat there dirty. I was glad to get out of... More

We stopped here but did not eat here so can't rate the food. We stopped at a giant field outside this tiny town and saw the most amazing artichokes. Go here is you l;ove artichokes!

After being seated for 5-10 minutes, had to ask for menus. Ordered artichoke platter and cheeseburger medium rare. Artichoke platter, house specialty, was served first, even though both dishes were to be main courses. It came without the sauces, which we had to ask for. They came about 5-7 minutes later, when deep fried artichokes were cold. Still no cheeseburger. I... More
