The restaurant was a short walk from our hotel and was not crowded, so it was a nice place to relax. The food was so-so and bland; no bargains here. Nothing was wrong, but nothing special. The restaurant was clean and the service was ok.

Don't usually order a meal here, usually just a gathering place for a good selection of bar drinks and meeting up with people. Ordered the rib-eye steak the other night, was cooked perfectly and delicious! The potato cakes are delicious as well, my husband ordered seconds! Their salmon salad is also an excellent choice, as is their clam chowder.

Schooner's is a nice restaurant that has balcony seating facing the beach. They primarily serve seafood. The food is good and the service is great. Not too expensive. I was a little disappointed that they took the calamari steak off the menu - they do have calamari strips, which was tasty.

IMHO? The best steamers around. Great choice of beers on tap, love the view, chatter of regulars, and attentive service. I'm not a local...yet, but always feel like I am.

A varied menu that will satisfy most any taste with great food. The atmosphere contains places for a quiet romantic meal, which we chose, or for a more boisterous party time. We have eaten there several times - in fact every time we stay in Cayucos.

Surprised I've not reviewed this restaurant sooner - as we LOVE it! Every time we're on central coast - must have a meal here. Best view on the coast ... but the food ... and service even better! Calamari is so good ... also had a great big salad that was tops. Good wine selection. Really good service. The weather... More

It was a fun place to go to but the food was a little disappointing. My shrimp and chips was pretty greasy and my mom had the Asian coleslaw and it was so hot that she couldn't eat it. We did have some nice cocktails, and the rolls were very nice.

Our first-time here for my birthday April 1st. Nice cocktails. Small bar. Dinner on the upstairs patio was nice. The Calamari appetizer was so delicious!! Wow!! Definitely recommend it. Can't wait to come back.

Excellent halibut - Asian coleslaw with peanut sauce was pretty good. Not an exceptional lunch but pretty good with a nice local vibe. Limited seating with a great view.

Description
Located in picturesque Cayucos, California, Schooners has been offering guests an unforgettable dining experience since it opened in 1993. Embracing a nautical theme reminiscent of the early history of the Central Coast sailors and fishermen, Schooners boasts the best ocean views of any restaurant in the area. Gaze into the deep blue while enjoying one of our signature cocktails, or perhaps some of our famous calamari strips. Schooners menu features fresh seafood and steaks, prepared thoughtfully by Chef Beto Gonzalez. Take time to stop in, take a look and say hello; chances are you'll find yourself wanting to indulge in our house specialty Bloody Mary, our fresh seafood, and some lively conversation with our local patrons. Hope to see you soon!
