Outstanding dining experience with a friendly staff. Absolutely will return and highly recommend to anyone interested in fine food and a rustic setting.

We didn’t stay in the hotel but had dinner in their restaurant. The food was very good, but the choices were a bit heavy for me. I don’t eat meat, and they didn’t have too many vegetarian choices, but I ended up with a good...More

The City Hotel is still as it was in the 1800s. Upstairs are rooms decorated to the period. Some have in room bathrooms and others share a bathroom. Downstairs is a lovely dining room with great lunches and dinners. The Saloon attached, "What Cheer Saloon,"...More

Great restaurant. First ate here 27 years ago when it was a training facility for a culinary school. I understand it has had different owners in the past years, but the current owner is doing a fantastic job. Everything was delicious, fresh and full of...More

The steak was the best my husband ever had. My Greek salad was delicious. The waitress was very friendly and the service was great.

We stayed in Columbia for three nights, and had dinner here on two of those nights. I wish I could remember what I ate at this late date, but it was some of the best I've ever eaten. The restaurant is on the bottom floor...More

I'm afraid you are reviewing a different business other than the City Hotel Restaurant. The City Hotel is a restaurant of the gold rush era and does not serve any pizza's or calzones. There is another business in Columbia that serves pizza's.

If you are looking for four star accommodations, go to Vegas. The City Hotel offers comfortable 1850s decorated rooms and a parlor. Wifi absolutely sucks, but we stay there to get away from 2017. Downstairs is one of the best restaurants in the Mother Lode,...More

Thanks Roman for the nice review. Sorry about the wifi in the State park, sometimes its good, other times not so good. Christopher at the City Hotel tries hard to provide a wonderful dining experience. Look forward to seeing you again.

The menu posted outside only told part of the story. I was making certain that this restaurant had enough choices to please everyone. Verifying that it had plenty, my friend and I decided to come back after picking up my wife. It was so worth...More
