Great fish dish--bronzini with mashed potatoes. Absolutely delicious. The place is quite pricey though so be prepared to spend a lot. Happy hour is generous so go then and stay for dinner.

I spend a week long vacation with my family between Anaheim and San Diego. We carefully chose Fornaio for our last dinner. What a waste of time and money. The worst dinner of all the trip (even our dinners at Disney were better!). Service was understaffed and distracted. The food was as good as that of a commercial flight. I... More

This was our first visit. We wish we would have tried this place sooner. They run a fabulous business. Every employee we encountered was friendly and efficient. We arrived for our group's reservation. They had us seated promptly. We all ordered something different and every single dish was perfection. We enjoyed the views of the harbor as the sun went... I travel quite a bit for a living and this Italian restaurant is one of the best I have been to. The service is amazing and the food is very authentic. Not to mention the amazing views of downtown San Diego. A must stop.

On any trip, there is always a restaurant or bistro that captures you. Whether it's the food, the ambience, the service or the view, the place just grabs you by the hand and says, "Come back, anytime!" Il Fornaio was just that place for us; it was the food, the ambience, the service AND the view that captured us. I... More

Left happy hour, 5 people, for around $100. That was drinks and apps for all. Good food, easy to access location.

We had the restaurant week menu that included an appetizer, pasta and entree. The food was the best I have ever eaten. The meal started with an excellent homemade bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic. The water view and excellent service also added to the wonderful evening. Food is moderately priced and absolutely delicious.

We were accompanied by doctors from the San Francisco area. All were blown away with the views, wait staff and the delicious food and drink. Will return on our next visit to Coronado.

We have frequented Il Fornaio - Coronado since 2006. Recently, we held an intimate wedding reception there. THE EXPERIENCE Top shelf. Working with Lorri and ESPECIALLY Evelina was seamless; their communication & follow-up was personable & immediate. We knew everything we needed to know before the event. Yes, we booked a private room. Wonderful bay views of the San Diego... More
