I used to work close to this location, and haven't been for over a year. This spot retains it's cute character, trendy spot at the Anti-Mall, and is a great place to watch the birds. The menu, with my vegetarian eyes, was focused on hummus. Not sure if it's fresh-maid, but it didn't seem to be. Perhaps I found them... More

This is a great place to meet friends, listen to live music and eat good food. The decor is fabulous and diners are transported to another culture.

I've wanted to try this place and finally we were able to have Sunday breakfast here. The outside is funky with a young vibe with little bistro tables but looks dirty. The service is so slow and disorganized meaning why would you stop and take an order or clear a table when a customer who has their food in front... More

Met business colleagues for lunch at "Gypsy Den" restaurant in Costa Mesa. Restaurant was highly recommended by a friend who lives in the area. Location was a bit hard to find (down long driveway - park at back), but worth the trouble once the food arrived. Fabulous combination of flavors on my salad; really enjoyed it. In fact, I savored... We came for brunch - hoped for more egg dishes but left satisfied with scrambled egg whites. Good coffee and atmosphere - looked like better choices for those not craving eggs. Next time!

Enjoyed the "mall" experience and also enjoyed eating here; nice atmosphere, or should I say vibe. Menu is somewhere between lunch and dinner. Beer was relatively cheap as it was happy hour and $3 a bottle for some interesting brews. Not everyone will enjoy this place - my wife didn't but that was perhaps because she chose the wrong thing... More

We like the location and friendly service. The breakfast burrito was really good. I didn't care for the regular coffee, but the coffee frances was really good.

We stumbled across a great little spot while we were exploring the Artists' Village in Costa Mesa. The Gypsy Den had a ton of character with its casual flowing scarves used as draperies and walls cluttered with Persian rugs and art. The food was good too. We were there for breakfast. We liked the vegetarian options including a burrito that... More

My wife and I stopped by here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Quite busy, which I suppose isn't to be unexpected as it's the only thing open at The LAB on Sunday mornings. I had the Maya coffee, which was very good, and their granola, which was excellent. The granola comes with yogurt and honey--be sure to spend the... More

I'm not sure if this place is a coffee shop that serves food, or is a real restaurant. The outdoor seating and menu make it lok like a restaurant, but if you step inside, it looks more like a coffee shop. So, I'm thinking it's a local hangout for the folks who work at The Lab, and their customers. Not... More
