First time here and came on the hotel concierge advice. Was seated on time with a reservation on a Friday night. It was later so couldn't enjoy too much of the ocean view, but it's there. Nice menu with plenty of options especially seafood. Enjoyed...More

We chose Jake's because of the view of the ocean and its reputation for good food and service. Our reservations were honored, which we appreciated. There was a long delay between receiving drinks and the promise of a basket of bread. Our beet salad was...More

I had the opportunity to spend a week in the Del Mar area of San Diego alone for a work. Yes alone ... La La Land. In a previous review I explained that Pacifica Del Mar and Jack's Del Mar came highly recommended from the...More

Consistently good food. This time I had a Cuban sandwich - I like Cuban sandwiches and always compare them to the original Little Havana Cuban. Jakes comes close. As a matter of fact now I’ve a dilemma - Cuban or Seafood Pot

Valet parking was only $6, stunning view, we had reservations so we did not wait long. Our waiter was attentive, prompt and had a great personality. Our beverages were good, our food was absolutely decadent. And I didn’t eat 1/2 of my meal in order...More

Great service, great menu, great ambiance! What more could one ask for? The fish tacos were great, the Hulu cake was stupendous, the drinks were generous, and the price was fair! Valet parking on site, or plenty of parking on the street. Mid afternoon lunch...More

I love this place. It’s upscale casual! The servers and hosts are very friendly and service is great. Every seat has a panoramic view of the ocean. The specials were creative and good. Seafood was fresh and delicious. Very comfortable and welcoming inside.

My husband and I are staying in Southern California for the week, and stopped by Jakes for a late lunch. The Pain Killer is TO DIE FOR, and the food we ordered (a burger and fish tacos) was outstanding. Very helpful and quick service

The ribs are gluten free, the burger has a gluten free bun option and almost all of the seafood dishes are either gluten free on the menu or can easily be made gluten free.

Jake’s Del Mar brings new American cooking to the edge – to the water’s edge that is. Located right on the beach in Del Mar Chef Duvinh Ta uses fresh, seasonal products as the inspiration for updating classic preparations of fresh fish, shellfish and premium meats. The lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch menus showcase clean, eclectic flavors and local, sustainable products that are complemented by Jake’s jaw dropping location on the sand. The nightly Chef’s Special is a seasonal creation that features the best seafood, meats and produce available and through the Legacy of Aloha program, Jake’s donates a portion the proceeds from the Chef’s Special to the San Diego Food Bank.
