It won't win any awards in France, but a solid place to get some baked goods when you are hungry or bored.

the bagels, the Caspar Sourdough, the Austrian Seed bread are all best of class, stand out among the remarkable number of quality fresh breads in our local stores.

Extraordinarily good breads - my favorites are the Austrian Seed Bread, and Caspar Sour Dough, and the bagels are the best I've ever tasted (that's from a New York native).

I have had local bakery bread from around the US, UK and France. This is some of the best I have every tasted. Best part the sandwich loaf comes un-sliced. Love it!

Although their bread is good and can be obtained in various grocery stores and farmer's markets, the store on Franklin Street is not open for the public...so don't make a speial trip to the store. I didn't find the bread at the city's Safeway market...however, it can be found at the Purity Market on Franklin Street in Fort Bragg.

If you are a pastry junky like me, don't miss the farmer markets. FB Bakery only bakes their phenomenal pastries and cookies for the FB and Mendocino farmers markets: Wednesday 3-6 in Fort Bragg; Friday noon-2 in Mendocino. That's it. As others noted, they're a wholesale business now. (They didn't seem to have a reliable enough worker base, according to... More

The Bakery itself is closed to retail customers but we buy from the bakery at Harvest Market or on Wednesday afternoons at the Fort Bragg Farmer's Market (seasonal). This place makes great bread, cookies, etc.. Whatever they make is damn good!!

Fort Bragg Bakery in its latest incarnation was the best pastry and coffee place in maybe the history of the world. My wife and I have been wearing sackcloth and ashes since it closed (because it was I understand was just too much for family and staff.) Meanwhile, the bakery continues with extraordinary wonderful bread (Hanna's Austrian Seed bread and... More
