This place is down the road from my mother in law's house, and since we love Mexican food, we go here every time we visit her. Even with our group of 8, we usually don't have to wait too long. They make fresh tortillas, and I've never been disappointed by what I've ordered. My favorite is the chile colorado.

The decor is old world Spanish. The staff is uniformly helpful and friendly. I had the absolute best pork tamales and my wife had a great taco dish.

Love that this restaurant has someone making homemade tortillas so that you can get them fresh off the grill. Heard they had happy hour with free food like chips and enchiladas and other things. Also hear from three to five the margaritas were $3. Well, they were $3.99 to be exact. Free food only included chips and salsa like other... More

We stopped in the cantina for happy hour from 3-6 weekdays. $3.95 margaritas, street tacos for $1.50 plus chips and salsa. We then shared a veggie fajitas. Plenty of carrots, squash, onions, etc. We watched the lady make fresh hand rolled flour tortillas that were warm and super good. Service was excellent without being obtrusive. Worth the trip

Went there on a Sunday afternoon, hungry. The parking lot was full at 3 pm, the buffet was over, and there was a wait with comfortable seating. Wait staff, bus people, hostess and cooks all nice to one another. The food looked typical, but after ordering noticed the tortillas were all being hand made. Our entrees were great, tortillas fresh,... More

Well if you want good mexican food (even a old lady hand making tortillas) and cold drinks and a relaxing evening of karaoke, this is the place for you. If your in Hemet you really don't have a lot to choose from in terms of sit down mexican restaurants but this should be the first place you go.

We were beyond pleased with our food at Los Vaqueros. So much so that we went back three times during our stay in Hemet! We had dinner, lunch buffet (great options!), and Happy Hour so feel like we covered the bases and never went away disappointed. Service is friendly and prompt, even when they are busy. We wish we had... More
