This is a very special place. The setting is magnificent, and the Inn itself is a thing of beauty. The staff go beyond the norm to assure that your meal exceeds any expectation, and that is during lunch hour! Love it! I will return

This was a very disappointing visit. They were clearly understaffed. The employee that 'greeted' us was not happy about it. 'Have a seat, although I have 5 tables in front of you so wait will be along time'. No one had a drink or food in front of them or they had their empty plates piled up to be removed.... More

We were recently camping at Silver Lake. Experienced a rainy & cold night so rather than cook breakfast we decided to go to Kirkwood Inn for an early lunch. Our server, Jessica was so sweet & personable. The food & drinks were great. We shared a Hot Pastrami sandwich & fish tacos. Both dishes were awesome.

We were staying a couple miles west, at Caples Lake Resort, and stopped in for a bite. First, understand that the main part of the bar and restaurant was built in the 1870's, so, yes, the place has been here, forever! The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was very good. My wife had their basic cheese burger,... More

We rode the H-D's up to South Lake Tahoe from the Bay Area which is a fantastic ride over HWY 88, the scenery is breathtaking! We stopped for a late afternoon dinner at the Kirkwood Inn & Saloon which is a nice little bar and restaurant just outside the ski area. I've been in there several times before usually just... More

Since my first visit more than 20 years ago, I’ve always loved dining at the Kirkwood Inn. Such a great story – first built in 1864, the rustic log cabin is where the original Kirkwood ski resort developers made their plans in 1962. The food at the inn, which is not an inn but just a bar and restaurant, has... More

The inn is very cute. It has a nice old style look and feel. The food is above average, as it the service. The highlight was definitely the berry pie. We would dine there again.

This little Inn was good for lunch and especially if you are hungry. The burgers were very good and came with a massive amount of fries. The menu was limited for dinner and I would have to say it was quite expensive for what is offered. The service was good and servers quite nice. I would go again for lunch... More

We wanted a night off cooking and we were thrilled to find this restaurant. Very homey with an efficient, smiling staff. Full bar and many beers on tap. We were here with friends and three of us ordered cheeseburgers - YUM - very generous portions and delicious. Our friend had the pulled pork sandwich so he and my husband shared... More

I have led car rallies and tours to this locations for years...We have been here at least 22 times during the years that we have led groups...We started many years ago coming up for breakfast and the huge pancakes were kind of a novelty draw but the rest of the menu for breakfast was also quite good...And the location is...
