The Crab Catcher is a small restaurant with perfect views of La Jolla Cove and La Jolla Caves that offers both fine dining and casual dining. I chose casual dining with a window view of the Pacific Ocean. On a Wednesday evening, the early dinner crowd was small. The menu was limited to mostly small plate bar type food. I... More

We had a late lunch and had a great table over looking the cove on the patio. The service was wonderful. The food was wonderful. I had cockles in a wonderful wine sauce as an app and seared octopus as a main cooked perfectly. My wife had a wonderful crab salad. A couple of glasses of wine and a wonderful... More

We ate at Crab Catcher last night for my husbands birthday. We have eaten there 2 or 3 times before and were very happy. We made reservations, waited to be seated, had a wonderful table and service. We ordered Whole Main Lobster and Filet Mignon. We started with salads, they were ok, we also ordered brussel sprouts and cauliflower for... More

After enjoying La Jolla during the a.m. hours, we built up an appetite for some seafood. After asking some residents, they recommended a few, but the Crab Catcher offered us a terrific view of the ocean. We climbed the stairs up to the restaurant and were offered a table overlooking the street, the sea caves & the ocean. My wife... More

I saw other comments about management confirming reservations for window sitting, then once you arrive surprise no window sitting available. That's true. Manager offered no apology and actually arrogant. Try Eddy V's just down the street-- higher rated and actually got a window table--great ocean view with seals and pelicans.

After calling in advance, requesting and them confirming they would be able to reserve a window table for us we drive 40 minutes to be greeted by an extrwmely arrogant front desk manager (older gentleman). This older gentleman who was extremely rude when he wouldn't honor the seating request. I would never recommend a place where you can easily spend... More

Took my wife and son there for what we thought was going to be a great dinner, but was soooo disappointed with both the food and the service. My son ordered the Maine Lobster, my wife the Red crab legs. The lobster came out so tough and dried out, your needed a very sharp knife to try to cut through... More

My wife and I recently spent a long weekend in La Jolla and dined at the Crab Catcher. We generally enjoy the casual bars and local beach restaurants but also like to splurge on a nice dinner from time to time and we specifically wanted seafood. Crab Catcher was recommended by another guest at the hotel we were staying so... More

We came to La Jolla to see sea lions and after walking around came across this restaurant and stopped by for lunch. We were able to get a table by the window and the view was fantastic, overlooking the ocean. We had crab enchiladas and omelette, both were delicious. The lemonade was tasty too. I highly recommend this place.

The food and service were good but not anything memorable - I had a crab cake and the crab stuffed mushrooms - again, they were good but about the same as you can get at other good sea food restaurants - this was lunch and the waiter was good but certainly had to cover other tables - all in all...
