Here for years - I will miss Jamie and the wonderful pastries, great sandwiches, Bookstore part !!! I'm saddened greatly 😩

Not easy for any business to last a really long time but this one seemed to last longer than most. It was a meeting spot for many groups to gather and it seems that most have moved on to new locations.
Nice and big, good place to just sit. parking easy except Saturdays and when high school kids get out of school (Los altos they all seem to have cars). So have a free hour and drop by as we do.
Nice sandwich and soup place, very quiet and friendly, small set of books available for purchase, area in back for "larger" groups - have seen bridge foursomes playing there as well as loners. Never a mistake to stop here for a nice quiet lunch.
Went in to see the Cuba photo exhibit friends were raving about. Loved it! I walked thru the whole cafe to see photos tucked in between book shelves, on the front and side walls and in the back room. I didn't realize the cafe shows...More

I am biased as I often visit the Main Street Cafe, its the place to meet about a business issue, or just friends, breakfasts are better than standard fare, coffee is fine, lots of pastries. Very friendly people who are part of the atmosphere.
