If you are in Los Angeles and planning to visit the Arts District stop by Wurstkuche for a bite and drink. Wurstkucke is a very lively place with an excellent selection of sausages, sauces, and fries. Warning, when I asked about the hand-cut fries and what made them taste so good the answer was duck fat. The craft beer selection... More

Unique food choices, huge beer selection and a young, hip vibe! They have a DJ and communal tables and I must insist you try the rattlesnake and rabbit sausage! and the curry ketchup~ why didn't I think of that?!

Wurstkuche has a great variety of sausages, some mainstream and some exotic, and big fries done just right with different sauces to go with them. You order at the front counter, then go find a table and they will bring the food to you. The line can get long but just have one of their many beers to drink while... More

Went here while in the arts district. Straight forward menu -- sausage with pork-free and vegetarian options, French fries (or frites), and beer. I had a sun-dried tomato and herb sausage that was chicken and turkey based. It's served in a roll with choices of toppings including peppers and onions. Everything was delicious. There's a large space in the back... More

Love this place! The food is great and there is plenty of it. Wide selection but my favorite is the Austin Blues. White truffle oil on the fries and a cold Aventinus is just what you need right now... go on, I'll wait...

I have never felt the need to praise a restaurant so high, but there is nothing in this world that can compare to the way this restaurant has made me feel. From the amazing selection of beer that I had tried, to the fries and the main dish, the bratwurst nothing fell short of phenomenal. The best part of it... More

Good mix. Interesting place, nice atmosphere with excellent sausages on a roll. Ask the bartender a recommendation for the best beer for the.sausage you ordered.

An other concept than the 'Würst' of Jeroen Meus in Belgium, but comparable in quality and taste. All wursts are prepared with some tasteful ingredients (chicken with apple & bacon; beef or pork with dried tomatoes & mozzarella; ...) and are served in a piccolo-bread with some topics to chose. And that is not all. The large choice in Belgian... More

I was in Los Angeles for a work conference and we decided to check this place out due to the eclectic menu and downtown location. We each got something different and we were not disappointed. The food was fresh and the atmosphere was dark but warm feeling. I loved the bench seating and sharing a table with strangers, it the... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
