Very good for a light healthy and tasty, casual lunch in front of Venice beach! Its a sort sashimi fast food but the quality of the food is great and the choices are various and good. Also important is the price that is affordable !!!! Its definitely not a fancy place. You would be eating on benches and enjoy the... More

Bowl's are pretty excellent here. The price was lower than expected for the area. Lots of choices and great taste. What else do you need? Fast service and easy location on the beach walk.

I have only had Poke a few times before but this was still a bit disappointing. Portions are small and expensive for what it is. I asked to have only a mild amount of wasabi in the dish and the result was still overpowering. There are better out there

I had no idea what to expect after ordering a Poke. But it was delicious. Wasabi sauce, a tonne of ahi and a good amount of brown rice. The perfect lunch for a busy day sightseeing.

This iconic institution has led to many many more poke shops in Venice the past few years. It's always difficult to decide exactly what I want here because it all sounds so good but there's too many combinations to know what goes well together so you just take a leap of faith & wind up in culinary heaven every time!... I'd never had poke before, but I'm really glad I tried it. It's cubed raw tuna fish served in a sauce with vegetables on top of rice, but you can choose from a variety of different sauces/marinades for the fish and throw in all kind of vegetables such as avocado, carrot, scallions, seaweed, etc and you can put extra sauce... Absolutely loved the food here. There was several people in the queue but service was quick and thorough. We got the spicy tuna with avocado, one with brown rice and one without. Both tubs were large - very filling despite the apparatus. It was so flavoursome and fresh. Service from staff was very good. Lids are available to take away... More

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
