Breakfast business meeting after dawn patrol surf (yes, this is normal in CA), and could not have asked for better. The coffee was excellent and the pigs in a blanket with cornmeal based pancakes hit the spot. Portions were enough for two people. Server was prompt and friendly and only set me back $18/person (with tip). Took leftovers home.

I went here with a friend who selected the spot and soon regretted saying yes without a little research first. Note: I did not try any bakery items, maybe this was better than actual meals. I ordered a salad with warm portabello mushrooms and made a rookie mistake (I assumed it was like most Angelino restuarants - where salads are... More

Went with some friends and I greatly enjoyed my meal. I got the breakfast pancakes and we shared the red velvet cake for dessert. I will be sure to visit again.

For years Doughboys cafe was the reigning king of 3rd street. From the morning till closing there would be lines and forget about eating there brunch during the weekend it was soooo packed with people waiting to eat their delicious foods. Then they closed. moved. Closed again and disappeared for years before reemerging. I loved dough boys but something changed.... More

I have been here a few times and I have enjoyed everything that I have tasted. Breakfast is my favorite! It isn't a big cafe but there are tables and chairs set up outside and nice to sit at when the weather is nice out. Great place to take the whole family. The menu has a little bit of everything... I want to give them a good rating, because the servers are very nice. I ate there a couple of years ago and liked it, but the recent visit was really disappointing. The food was awful. Great idea, but poor execution in the kitchen. I had pigs in a blanket with cornbread pancakes, and corn hash. Sounds amazing, right? The... More

Well, I had high hopes for Doughboys! This used to be a place we visit frequently for the food. It’s been revamped and supposedly it’s better than ever. Well this is not my style of restaurant and service or my flavor profile, so, if you don’t mind mediocre food and casual service. Then please go see this LA establishment. It’s... More

Stopped for late brunch after midweek trek to the West Side. Now have to come up with additional West Side errands for an excuse to return. So many appealing sounding options on the menu, and absolutely everything was delicious, even the coffee. Breakfast sandwich with bacon, eggs, cheese, tomatoes, was huge and gooey and so tasty. Granddaughter loved her rice... More

6 of us are here today and It was really good. I had Almond Crusted French Toast with a side of eggs. One of my friends are the breakfast quesadilla and it was also amazing. The red headed waiter was very nice but I can't remember his name. I would recommend going here if you want great service and yummy... More

I love the doughboy salad but their sandwiches and breakfasts are great as well. Sometimes we just come for desert. The red velvet cake is the best. It is so moist it leaves a red mark on the plate where as other red velvet cakes are on the dry side. A great place all around, price, portions, food and service.
