It was a first time dining at Baco Mercat. In downtown Los Angeles there are tons of really cool restaurants and this is one. Since this location is in the old bank district the buildings are really cool. Tip- theres a parking lot next to...More

I am a food snob. I admit it! This place has personality and so does the food. Fat fresh and delicious! Try the Shrimp Sandwich aka El Pesco. Take a few simple ingredients and make something great! I'm not a drinker but the cocktail menu...More

My wife and I shared three dishes (I think all were called "starters") --- cauliflower, eggplant and Brussels sprouts --- each prepared in a most creative and tasty fashion. We were just delighted with the meal. I would also point out that the service was...More

As a solo diner, I took the opportunity to sit at the bar- I'm so glad I did! Baco Mercat was perfect - terrific food, good wine, and genuinely lovely staff.

The food was fabulous! One thing more flavorful than the next. The only strange thing was that the food all came out at different times for our party. We did have a larger party (15), but we found it a tad odd that dinners were...More

Baco Mercat lived up to the promise that it would be loved by young and old (er) alike. Cool understated decor, great fresh cocktails, nice wine by the glass for lunchtime indulgence. We tried the sweet piggy, and a couple of 'slayers' all prepared with...More

Baco has some unique very interesting plates. Think Mexican, Mediterranean flavors The baco is only available here (Chef Centeno's creation) and is a bread-like substance flattened like a tortilla. The one I got had oxtail, cheddar tater, horseradish yoghurt,, delicious not cheap. We tried the...More

Every time I go to Baco I get an original Baco (chefs signature sandwich) lots of sauce, lots of meat. In addition, I always try to order a few of the sides, which are always changing. Interesting flavor combos, usually a lot of vegetarian options....More

In downtowns old banking district, stuff happens. Here you can eat Bäco, a cross between a taco, pizza and gyro. Other dishes balancing on a thin line between Mexico and the Mediterranean.A nice tavern visit with good service

Everyone has a different conception of what makes for a pleasant dining experience. This restaurant is geared to the 20/30 year old set with piped in music adding to the din and a unique menu that may not be as appealing to an older clientele....More

Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering
buildings, bustling streets, and industrial
warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of
cultures here with a growing influx of business
professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of
Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts,
bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly.
Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants
