We've been coming to Chan Dara for years. Best Tom Kah Kai in town! Food and prep very consistent and tasty. And Chan Dara has ALWAYS been known for having very attractive waiters/waitresses. Pleasant cool-bar atmosphere. Family faves are the chicken coconut soup mentioned above, the musman curry, beef saute, and the meekrob is sweet crunch heaven. Always an enjoyable... More

Love the food here - excellent thai food that is wonderful - their happy hour in the bar - 21+ is a great value - that menu is 1/2 off and well worth it!

We came in for happy hour, and ordered iced tea and food. We were told that for happy hour prices, we needed to drink alcohol. I decretly explained that we are sober, and the menu does clearly state that a beverage must be purchased. It did NOT say it had to be alcohol. So, she went and spoke with the... More

I've eaten at all of the Chan Dara restaurants in LA over a period of almost 30 years. Over that time I've probably visited fewer than a half dozen times, but I was always drawn back because of previous great experiences. In the early days the food was spectacular. I especially remember ordering giant prawns, which were as large as... More

On the way to a meeting in Santa Monica, I stopped here with a friend and associate. Can't wait to have to go to Santa Monica again. If you know LA and know that I would have to drive the 101 to the 405 from the Burbank area for a 3pm meeting, you know how much I like this place.... More

I have been eating at Chan Dara for the last 25 years. Most of the time it is the Chan Dara in Hollywood and on occasion, Larchmont. I think this might be my first time at the West L.A. restaurant. What happened?? Other than the Beef Satay, which was great, nothing lived up to what it used to be. I... More

I am kind of afraid to tell everyone about Chan Dara in West Los Angeles, because it might get too crowded. It is the Best Thai restaurant in Los Angeles. Great service good prices and Just great Thai food. The Pad Thai is full of flavor, I get it with either shrimp or chicken, The Curries are all outstanding, Soups... More

I'd first been in the former Chan Darette in Marina Del Rey a few times close to a decade ago, and had had some of their soups and curries. WOW! It was becoming a local favorite for me. But it closed ~6-7 years ago. It certainly didn't close because business was slow. Fortunately, one of the two sister Chan Dara... More

The atmosphere is really nice, the service is great and the food wonderful. My wife, and I, used to spend a lot of time in LA, and this is one of the spots we used to frequent. It is right across the street from Amoeba records, and anytime we went to one we went to the other. Great food and... More

Stopped in for a late dinner and found the Chan Dara to have a nice selection of Thai dishes and very fast, friendly service. Ordered a Thai Chicken Curry and Broccoli with crispy pork (along with the prerequisite dumplings). All very excellently prepared and served nice and hot. Tables were adorned with white tablecloths and the wait staff were very... More
