It's right by Venice Beach, so it's definitely a beachfront business (lots of shorts, sand on the floor, weather-beaten wood and metal fixtures). But it's nice, has reasonably friendly service (when they've had their coffee), and the food is not bad. I go there whenever I'm bouncing around Venice Beach area (which is not very often).

Me and my family ate breakfast there, a sandwich, bagle and muffin. Everything was really tasty. The food on the menu is light and great for breakfast. It's less suitable for families with young kids who likes running around or if you want to actually sit and enjoy breakfast time. The place is busy and there is always a line... More

Stayed in Venice beach for about 9 days, had breakfast here almost every day. The menu is huge, and I got something different every day, it was all fresh and super good. Prepare for a bit of a wait on weekend mornings, this is a place heavily used by locals, but well worth the wait...also good coffee.

Went to this place on or way down the beach. Staff was friendly and the food and coffee was to die for. You may have to wait in line but it's worth it

The coffee was the only redeeming quality of this restaurant. Long wait of almost 30 minutes for mediocre, over-priced food. No waiter service- this is a tourist trap that I fell into visiting Venice Beach.

We visited The Cow's End for a quick lunch. The drinks arrived immediately but we waited more than 20 minutes for food. Even though, the waiting was worth it! The Black Forest sandwich was incredibly tasty!!! Notice that the place is some kind of a deli- you order the food at the cashier, waiting for it to be ready, then... More

Excellent food, fresh ingredients, great smoothies, perfect spot to take in the sights and sounds of Venice Beach. Excellent staff. Great atmosphere. Side note, cash only. Happy travels.

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
