I have eaten here several times, and will come back again. Good food, good atmosphere, reasonable prices. Within walking distance to the Mayfair Hotel, if you happen to be staying there.

Referred here by Dennis, the man of a million jobs at the Holiday Inn Express and it was wonderful. The rumor is it was once Charlin Chaplin's home but in fact it was Charles Chapman's. Doesn't matter. It is one of the oldest buildings around and now a wonderful mexican restaurant. The food was excellent, the margaritas strong and the... More

Great neighborhood mexican restaurant. Been here 37 years, with most of the staff going back at least 10 years. A wide variety on menu to suit everyone's appitite. The queso fundido is authentic, not americanized cheese whiz! The tacos were great and the tortillas out of this world. If you want filling tasty mexican with good service eat here. The... More

The food was good, and it seems that the place has been around a long time, but nothing too different. The staff was very friendly.

I have eaten at countless Mexican restaurants and this one had some options I had never seen before. Loved the stuffed cactus meal. Just one down side. The guacamole is at best "ordinary" otherwise great place.

We arrived a couple minutes before their happy hour started. Our first beer was charged at regular price but a few minutes later the happy hour beer was a really decent price. The waitress who appeared to be an owner or family member was very pleasant and efficient. They are very proud of their guacamole but it was just plain.... More

La Parrilla is a very good choice for Mexican food in downtown LA. It is unpretentious with a nice atmosphere and excellent service. I highly recommend the enchiladas and the spare ribs but everything on the menu seems to be very good.

I really liked the nopales plate, which is actually hard to find in a lot of Mexican restaurants in SoCal, let alone being well-prepared. I also tried the more standard fare, but nothing else rose above average. The fresh tortillas are a plus.
