N/Naka is a special nested in west Los Angeles. There is no sign on the outside of the restaurant. Inside there is spacious room for each table. The service is excellent and the food is amazing. Serve kaiseki style and yet innovative and modern. A must if you visit LA. You may even run into celebrity there. I did with... More

Recently, for my 21st birthday, I had the great privilege of dining at Chef Niki Nakayama's hidden gem in Culver City, and I can safely say that I could not have hoped to celebrate the end of a long internship in Dublin and my 21st birthday in a more fantastic fashion. Each course is a testament to Chef Niki's love,... More

Dining at n/naka, you know from the first bite that you're in the presence of an artist. She takes you and your palate on a fantastic journey. Each course is planned to please in its own particular way. I highly recommend it, particularly for special occasions with that special person. It's pricey, but oh, so worth it.

It only took me 3 months to finally snag a reservation. It was for a party of 6 so that did not help the situation as it is a small restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing. Every course had every detail thought out. Not a thing made it to the plate without a purpose. Half of us did the sake... More

This is arguably the most memorable dining experience in Los Angeles. Course after course is a visual feast and a parade of delicate, delicious surprises. The pacing is thoughtful and beautifully organized. The ingredients are rare and fresh. The preparation is legendary. Superlatives are the norm here.

Small plates tasting, Asian influence, drink pairings? This place is so right up our alley, we came in with extremely high expectations, and for the most part they were completely met. The food varied between inventive and interesting flavor combinations (cold corn soup with frozen cucumber? Scallop with aoli and mushrooms? Delicious!) to perfectly crafted sushi and sashimi (both the... More

A wonderful dining experience for my family! The food was outstanding, the service was graceful and we got a visit from Chef Niki.

The whole concept behind what you eat moved me. It took my breath away. Why o why this restaurant has no stars. Are they sleeping in Michelin world. Three stars from me

I celebrated my birthday at n/naka, and could not have asked for a more perfect experience. This was my first time trying Kaiseki cuisine, knowing full well that Chef Niki puts a modern twist on the centuries old haute, Japanese tradition. We did one sake and one wine pairing. The presentations and preparations were well done and balanced. The timing... More

My wife and I both agree; the meal we had at n/naka was the best tasting meal we'd ever had. Some of the flavor combinations (like the lemon-ish puree with the scallop and soy sauce) were like magic, and every dish was incredibly tasty. The pasta dish, the beef dish and the scallop dish was our favorites, although they all... More
