We went to celebrate a friends birthday, and had a fun night. The Margaritas were delicious. The Pina Colada over priced as it comes in a coconut. Should be optional. Everything from guacamole to fajitas to quesadilla were very good with great size portions

Just found this review with Shekhar M (whom I have never met) on Yelp, but I could not have said it better, so thanks Shekhar, I hope you do not mind when I borrow your words - you spoke fright out of my heart: "A very unusual "velvety" Mexican restaurant! 5 stars on customer service - Three helpings of house... Tequila drinks, decent Mexican food, Dia de Los Muertos decor, awesome Spanish language covers of rock classics, and good "bad" movies (from Elvis movies to Valley Girl) projected above the bar -- what's not to love? Chips come with two tasty salsas as well as yummy bean dip. My favorite dish here is probably the flautas de Martin - spiced... More

First off, I want to give great kudos to our waitress Christina. She was wonderful, as well as all the staff. The style is wonderful. The style/theme is a terrific visit for tourists while the delicious flavor of the food is a great draw for locals. GET THE CHURRO DESSERT! So good. Loved it.

We had a great time at this funky but hip restaurant. The food was very good and priced just right. I had the scampi camarones and LOVED it. The sauce was light, the rice was cooked just right and the scampi were delicious. My only complaint is that we went on a Friday evening and traffic was a nightmare. We... More

We were told about this place by the owner of the local AirBNB place we stayed at in Hollywood. Good job too, as we would never have spotted it otherwise. The place is amazing inside - a real Gothic look to it, quite unlike anywhere else I've ever been. It's split up into two halves - the restaurant and the... More

The outside of this restaurant is very deceiving, by which I mean the outside looks a bit on the rough side. But once inside you get to see the elaborate decor that makes you feel like you've been transported to somewhere else. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. I found this restaurant by chance and I'm glad... More

I have been here 2-3 times now, on my recent LA trips. What I LOVE about this place is the atmosphere, the low lighting and dark interior design - completed with amazing artwork and heavy velvet curtains. The menu is incredible, even though I have only tried the soup, the rest of the menu also looked heavenly. The cocktail menu,... More

Low key lighting, great drinks and menu items. Perfect place to bring a date! The ambiance and decor is wonderful with Mexican wrestlers, Day of the Dead and some neon lights inside.

We did not eat here. We just had drinks at the bar. Believe me , the drinks are fantastic. The bartender was friendly and the atmosphere is definitely Velvet Margarita. You will enjoy...but they do not open early.
