We went to Messob for some Ethiopian food and enjoyed ourselves. They have a wide variety of Vegetarian/vegan food as well as an extensive selection for meat eaters. We ordered a vegetarian and a meat plate to share. The quality and quantity of the food was awesome and between the four of us we could not finish the food. The... More

Pros - Absolutely delectable fare - period! - Fun to eat in a share-a-plate fashion Cons - Service - we were made to wait in an adjacent room for a good 30 min, then for another 15 min till we could place our order and for another 15 min to get our food - Space - small place with an... More

We ate here with three Ethiopian friends -- it was their recommendation. The restaurant is small, but there were plenty of tables. As we ate, there was an interesting mix of Ethiopians, Asian-Americans and others (okay, we're Hispanic and white). We had two ENORMOUS platters of food (no, we didn't expect them to be that big). We had the Vegetarian... More

This restaurant has been a staple in Little Ethiopia for some time. We ate here some years ago and liked it a lot. It is just as good as it was then. We are vegetarians and the vegetarian (vegan, in fact) combination for two fit our desires perfectly. There is more than enough tasty/heatlhy treats. We had Ethiopian beer which... More

tonight one of several trips to this restaurant over the last decade. the tasty food continues. we again got the big dinner sampler for two, which comes on a large tray. the cuisine is based on flatbread, which is spongy and soft, with a slightly acid taste (like sourdough) from the teff, which is the main grain of Ethiopia. on... We wanted to try Ethiopian food after having read about sambusas and injera. The sambusas were like the Indian samosas and excellent. Injeras are akin to dosas but one needs to develop a taste for it. The restaurant was nicely done up and the ambience was pleasing.

I had never been to an Ethiopian Restaurant before, and neither had my daughter. We were delighted to have a super helpful waitress who suggested the platter for two as it sampled everything. We weren't very hungry so ordered the platter for one. It was about $32 but it was huge. The meal was served on one large plate with... More

I have been coming here for two decades. Although there are new owners since then, this is still a fantastic place. We returned to Messob last weekend on a whirlwind trip to a birthday party in Anaheim. We were taking friends who'd never had the pleasure of Ethiopian cuisine. They had their dog along so we called ahead to make... More

The food is heavy to digest or maybe the spongy pancakes looking bread. It taste alright though. Also bring your own forks as they have none of it, it's eat with hands of place. Outside that and the lack of ac and air it was a crowded place and we went there at 6 pm.
