A pretty hip place but located waaaayyyy down Melrose Avenue, east of the studio lots. Large open floor format downstairs and a smaller, intimate setting upstairs. Unless you want to be completely away from the action, you DO NOT WANT TO BE UPSTAIRS so make sure you request downstairs seating when you book. We didn't and paid the price. Many... More

This is an amazing restaurant and staff go out of their way to welcome you and make you feel at home. The food was awesome, everything very fresh and homemade. Don't miss this charming place if you are in the area.

We visited this restaurant after spending a busy day in Hollywood. We were able to call ahead and reserve a table right before we got there. The staff on the phone was very friendly while taking our reservations. Once seated we were brought home made bread which was very tasty and warm. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the wines... More

Way down Melrose towards downtown in a fairly dumpy neighborhood is la Buca. It's a modern interior with young servers and a young Hollywood crowd. The appetizers were very good. Pizzas, tartare and more. The pasta was great as was the chicken parm. I would go back.

My wife and I like to stay at a hotel close to this restaurant when we go to Dodger games because we can take a short walk to enjoy great food and service. We discovered OLB about 3-4 years ago and have been returning every chance we get as we think the front and back of the house do a... More

Excellent menu choices gave each of our group something perfect and we enjoyed the evening. Our server was thoughtful and attentive, the food came out efficiently and was delicious. We all agreed that a return visit was in order and several of the dishes we had would be on the repeat list. Celebrated a birthday, and even though the restaurant... More

Without reservation we got a nice table upstairs next to the fire place. Very good wine and the starter steak tartar was super. Pizza light and tastefull.

I have to say this place is not in my favorite area in LA and the welcome from the valet parking was less than warm but once inside the welcoming feel of Italian hospitality and good food started to take over. We were shown up to our table and the waitress who served us was excellent. Good knowledge of the... More

We had dinner with my daughter and her husband before going to the Pantages Theater last Friday. I must say this place didn't disappoint! We ordered the house made ricotta to start (to DIE for!) and it was just amazing! For dinner we each tried something different-classic pizza, chicken parm, short rib ravioli & Buca farms squash fusilli. Service was... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
