If you're heading to Disney Hall or the Music Center downtown Los Angeles, and would rather take a walk before or after the performance, head to Redwood Bar & Grill -- the yummiest fish and chips in a warm, golden environment, with great service and different live music every night. Or you can sit away from the music if you'd... More

I dropped in here for a quick meal during jury duty. It's cool and dark inside. They knew I was in a hurry and I ordered the skirt steak salad, with avocado. It was pretty decent, very large salad and great lemonade. Other diners' food looked good, too. I had plenty of time to eat lunch and get back to... More

(NOTE: Average or Low for atmosphere...but great for food) This is an unusual review for me...because normally we don't go to dark hole in the wall bars!!! Five of us went downtown to the Central Market (it's been years) on Saturday to check out the new eating places.......It was jammed and there was nowhere to sit so we left..... The... More

I asked for a burger, and came absolutely burned. Poor quality food. The place is dark and extremely old-fashioned. Try to avoid this place.

Really wish I could write a better review- but the food I ordered was just gross and salty. I ordered the fish and "chips"- which literally were chips- potato chips!!!! WHO THINKS THAT WHEN YOU ORDER FISH AND CHIPS YOU ARE GOING TO GET POTATO CHIPS??? Thankfully, the wait staff gave me a plate of proper fries after my shocked... More

I saw this place while on the bus in DTLA and something drew me in. I thought I was back in 1965 for a second. It's got a nautical theme reminiscent of Trader Vics, but not quite as corny. We had burgers and they were really very good. The guy next to me ordered the rib eye and it also... More

We stumbled upon this place with low expectations after searching for casual bar and grill in the area. We were definitely unsure about the "pirate theme" we heard it had, but it turned out the decor was really cool. The staff was nice and everyone was really relaxed. They had a great selection of beer and mixed drinks, all at... More

Fun bar right downtown where all the newspaper offices are and the Grand Central Market. It has just a bit of a dive feel but it's clean, safe and the staff is friendly once they get to know you. The menu is actually pretty varied, with sandwiches and salads as well as good appetizers like calamari and mozzarella sticks. The... More

Great place! Great food (a surprisingly varied menu) fine drinks and attentive, fun service. Enjoy the diverse live bands that perform there. Don't miss it!!
