Really excellent food, and a very wide variety of choice. There is a good range of both spicy and non-spicy. The food comes quickly. The tea is really not that good compared to other Chinese restaurants in my experience. I recommend ordering lots of food and taking the extra home for successful microwaving! Street parking is relatively easy and they... More

The Chinese eateries in WeHo or BH may have fancier decor and more unctuous service than you will find at Cheng Du, but that is not why you come here. You make the drive to the San Gabriel Valley for the most authentic Sichuan cooking (meaning fiery with complex levels of heat and spice) to be found in SoCal. The... More

This restaurant, previously known as Chungking, is a good place to satisfy that midday urge for Chinese food. The menu is extensive, very reasonably priced and tasty. There is always a table available and service is prompt and friendly.

This restaurant was recommend to me because it is healthy Chinese food. The menu shows the nutritional data about the various dishes. There are many low fat and low sodium items. The o wonton soup is delicious. I like plain food so order chicken and broccoli which comes in a light sauce. The portions are quite large and we always... More

Very tasty and authentic Sichuan restaurant. Of course you need to like spicy food otherwise your mouth would burned out.

There was only one occupied table when we arrived so we were skeptical, place was rated B, which is typical for Chinese places. We ordered. We waited. 3 or 4 people showed up to pick up their take out. We waited. Another group of people were seated. More people came for take out. We waited. They waited. Someone from a... More

This is not a genuine Chinses restaurant. Instead, it caters Americans only, misleading them. The Ma Po Tofu is not spicy enough, and the taste of other dishes are too bland. At least for the dinner, there are few customers, hinting that it is not welcome even in local Americans. I do not understand why it got such a high... More

The food is good and prices are reasonable. Noodle soups are our favorite to get from here. Eating at the restaurant itself has not been as good an experience. They do get busy at lunch time.

We eat here regularly and it's one of our favorite Chinese restaurants in the westside of L.A. The food is consistently good and the two waiters and assistants there are very attentive and fast. They're also flexible when it comes to substitutions. The only downside is they stopped honoring Restaurant.com coupons, including those already purchased (which is not too big... More
