I decided to take one week off to slow down and enjoy some time in Morro Bay, and the surrounding areas. Wanting a late brunch, I found that MB was packed. I then drove to Los Osos on a whim.. followed the signs to restaurants, and ended up at the Sculptured Egg. I've seen a lot of complaints about this... More

Back Bay Restaurant across the street was overflowing with customers so we walked across the street for breakfast. The place was completely empty, but tidy. I asked "Are you open? Where is everyone?" (That was probably not the best way to ask if they were open) "We are open and it is Saturday!" huh? We informed the old grumpy lady... More

The food is ok but the owners are strange. A husband/wife team. He cooks and she serves. She is the "egg Nazi" as she has become known by locals. Eat at Back Bay Café instead.

The mystery is how in the world the Sculptured Egg has stayed in business for so long. Rude wife is the waitress. Rude husband is the cook. They specialize in eggs done THEIR way, not your way. Adding insult to injury: way way overpriced.

Back in the 1980's this was a good little place to get breakfast. Basised on that, we stopped in. First we were met with the sent of old grease. Then the older woman rudely ( as she said everything) told us where to sit in her completely empty shop. The food tasted like it came right out of the can... More

I've been to this restaurant many times and yes the Waitress/Hostess/Owner is rude 99% of the time. But if you sit up straight, don't make eye contact and stick to the menu you should be OK. The reason I go is because I love eggs benedict and country potatoes and the Owner/Cook makes the best I have ever had in... More

While here, we saw 2 couples get turned away from the restaurant. The hostess said "this is not the establishment for you." She got very upset and yelled at my friend because her baby took a few steps. "We allow babies in here, but not if they are going to walk around." I have never in my life seen anything... More

Two people: one omelette, one (small) stack so sour dough "pancakes" and two coffees. Somehow that order was $46? The rude comments when we ordered should have been the clue to leave even though this was our second visit... We tried to give this place another try. During both visits, this place was empty. It was like visiting somebody's mean... More

As a local, I hear lots of reviews. Last time I ate here personally was back in the late 80's, when you could get a $15 omelette, and then start adding on $2 each if you want cheese, mushrooms, etc. This place is famous for their stance on ketchup. If you ask for it, you've offended the owners & the... More
