Moonshadows was a beautiful restaurant, located right on the beach, over looking the sea. You couldn't get a more more perfect view. The staff were fabulous, always at the table top up the drinks when they needed to be. There menu recommendations were also very good. The food was delicious, and also good value for money especially given the location,... More

Moonshadows is our go-to spot whenever we are in the area. The food consistently and creative. The service is professional and friendly. Of course the view can't be beat! I love sitting over the ocean with the waves crashing under my seat!!!

I've been coming to this seaside restaurant since the early 1990's and it never disappoints- especially the views of the ocean. It had been a few years since my last revisit and even with the nostalgia I had an awesome dinner. Cocktails were a string and inventive as I remembered them. And the romantic atmosphere has survived after all of... More

It was our Anniversary dinner. We reserved a table 1 week forward and requested an oceanfront table. When we arrived, hostes even didn`t check our request and show us table at the wall. We decided to wait. There were also a party of 6 people who was also standing during half an hour in the middle of hall (there were... More

I would say it's the most romantic place in town and you would agree with me on that. First I heard of this place from the series Beverly Hills 90210, if you remember this one. And I decided to check if this place was real. And it really was. Besides great view (it's in Malibu, right on the water), they... More

We stopped in for a Sunday brunch on our way out of the Los Angeles area. The reviews seemed good, so we thought we would give it a try. Valet parking was welcome and a breeze. We were given a choice of tables and chose a window table right over the water. The service was excellent - the wait staff... More

I wish I could give this a 3.75, but I like to round up. This is a classic beach restaurant on PCH (Pacific Coast Highway). It's on stilts so the when the tide comes in, you'll be right over the water. It's lovely inside, but we opted for outside so we could hear the waves crashing beneath us. Cool experience.... More

Passed it going north and had lunch at another place. Stopped by for a drink on the way home. Wish we would have had lunch here instead. Gorgeous views and setting. I can't speak to the food as we didn't eat but we had a great bartender and spectacular views.

Looked on Trip Advisor on the way up the coast for a great restaurant. Trip Advisor did not fail me!! This restaurant has an amazing view! The food was perfect and some of the best oysters we have had. Ask for Francisco as your server, he is awesome!! Lionel was helping and was great too! Definitely will stop again!!

An outstanding restaurant / bar at the seaside. First you can have your drink and observe the sunset and then a delicious dinner. Octopus and ahi tuna was excellent. Prices are exceptable.

Staying in Malibu

Neighbourhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
