We were first time diners last week at the Boar's Breath. What a pleasant surprise. As Lake County residents, we are hungry for good local restaurants because the list of decent eateries in the County is rather short. The ambiance was nice, the service was a hit, and the food was great. Last week we ate a Solbar, a one-star... More

This small restaurant has a great and friendly atmosphere with surprising food for this small town. The staff has been very attentive each time I have visited. This time I wasn't extremely hungry but knew I at least wanted to have the roasted beet salad. It was suggested that I add salmon to the salad. Well that was an amazing... More

This restaurant accommodated 6 of us and didn't care how long we stayed to chat. Even offered to refill our water when they knew we were just catching up after not seeing each other for awhile. The food was great! The staff attentive. I understand why the locals recommend it. I had the salmon and it was perfectly cooked. The... More

This innovative restaurant in a traditional casual restaurant setting adds some new tastes in this small town. There isn't much from which to choose in town, so Boar's Breath is the best around. The selection is good enough and the staff is attentive. Had a very good beet salad and some draft beer. I would return.

Boar's Breath is the happening place in Middletown; good food, good prices and lots of great wine and a full bar. I don't like the TV, but there is a bar to sit at so I'm sure some people like that. The tables are intimate and the place is dark and can be a bit noisy, but in a good... More

I was totally surprised that a small town like Middletown -- the first town that one comes to after leaving Napa County and Calistoga on Hwy 29 going north had such excellent food. I had the salmon and it was cooked so nicely -- just melted in my mouth -- also came with fresh, nicely cooked vegetables and mashed potatoes/cauliflower.... More

We had soup, salad, pasta dishes, and chicken. The chef pays attention to detail, and the sauces were delicious on all the entrees. Service was attentive and the dining room is comfortable and spacious. Two TVs above the bar for the game of the day, and I the "lemon drop" I ordered was really good. Good place for a nice... More

Great food and drinks. Very friendly staff. We happened to be there during the 2012 SF Giants World Series Game 3. Entire staff was dressed in Giants stuff. Lot's of fun.
