Enjoyed splitting a savory tri-tip/ribs combo: tasty and sufficient. A bit noisy (what does one expect for a diner?); our server was terrific.

Went to breakfast twice once on Saturday and again on Sunday. The Staff is friendly and remembered us from last year. Food came out promptly and was to order. More than enough to eat. Enjoyed our time there.

Had a wonderful breakfast before heading out for a long day of golf. Very sizeable portions that will keep your motor going all day. Not one person of our foursome was disappointed with there meal. Will go back next trip to Monterey.

While staying in Carmel (for 10 days), I decided to use my "free" birthday breakfast with Black Bear Diner at this location. It is extremely close to gas access and Safeway. I had breakfast here the first morning after arriving (as I wanted to locate a reasonably priced gas station). I was seated almost immediately and showed my coupon for... More

Black Bear Diner is a fantastic, low-key dining option with great diner options and even better deserts. The staff was very friendly and made me feel very much at home. The service was quick and efficient. It would certainly be a go-to place if I lived in the area. But, since I don't live here, I'll just have to try... More

The biscuits are the size of a loaf of bread! The egg scrambles are great, and the portions are extremely generous. Very good service - recommended if you want a good, basic breakfast!

Very friendly staff! We were seated quickly. Our server, Jerri, was great! Made us feel very welcome and comfortable! She was a delight! Good selections of entres on the menu. Food came out quickly, together and hot. All of our meals were delicious. A great place!

We had a lovely breakfast. It was way too much food on the plate, but looked great. I think just the idea of it was appealing to the boys! The waitress lady was really lovely and kind.

I didn't expect a gourmet meal, but it was adequate. Not cheap as I would have expected. $19 (including tip) for eggs, home fries, biscuit and coffee (no meat) for one person. Nothing exceptional, although it arrived on a huge plate. The biscuit was boring but huge and there were a lot of adequate fries. Also, the server was very... More
