Excellent coffee (and Morning Glory bread) but this stone building is worth a visit just for the architecture. Close to Alvarado Street for a walking visit through Old Town Monterey.

Enjoy a cup of smooth and bitter-free cold press. The old stone building once served as newspaper office and will keep you cool on a hot day. Wish I could have steeped in the ambiance, but the kiddos required a visit to the nearby Dennis the Menace park.

As someone used to living in Southbank (Melbourne, Australia), my coffee taste buds were attuned to fantastic quality espresso. East Village Coffee Lounge does a good job - daily visits a must!

After having lunch I needed a coffee to keep on. I had a coffee od the day which was plenty of floral flavours -very recommendable even if you don't drink coffee. I visited it on Sunday so the place was crowded and the staff was very busy. In spite of this, I would recommend this place.

Enjoy the eclectic atmosphere that attracts a younger crowd. This is an independently owned coffee shop and the staff is friendly & energetic. There is a variety of seating arrangements from dining tables w/ chairs to comfy couches with coffee tables.

Coffee was good just what I needed. I'm rating this a 4 only because of a few minor details. I got a white mocha latte with coconut flavor added. It was very good! I maybe could have done one more pump of coconut but that's a matter of preference not quality. Cute place definitely more of a college hang out... More

Wanted to coffee, but not the chain variety. Found this place by chance and had a yummy cup of coffee inside the eclectic building. Staff was very friendly and hope to be able to find it again on our next trip to Monterey!

East Village Coffee Lounge was one of my favorite spots when we lived in Monterey 12 years ago. I returned for a visit and had to come back... it is still portraying the wonderful European flair that I like so much. The staff is super friendly and the pastries are yummy; plus, they have a nice area to sit outside... More

Far from a chain experience this charming coffee house is about as good as it gets. The coffee is excellent and crafted with care. There's also a superb selection of tees and other hot beverages. They serve beer and wine as well the pastries and food are great as well. The atmosphere is upscale rustic, with a variety of indoor... More
