Right off Hwy 1, near Castroville, the Artichoke Capital of the World, sits this quaint and homely cafe with surprising good coffee and a great menu. We stopped by for breakfast and were treated to choices of ingredients that seemed to come right out of the back yard which also happens to included Monterey Bay. Nice find. Thanks TripAdvisor!

We occasionally call in for breakfast when we are going to Monterey or Carmel. It is a locals breakfast place and the food is very good. We have been coming here for probably 25 years and never complained. It is nothing fancy as well as having good service, It is also very close to a quiet beach: Salinas River Beach

As a local Moss Lander, I've had many chances to take my guests to the Cafe. It's always good and the walls have plenty of photos documenting the history of ML.....It's fun!

This is were the locals eat. We stopped for brunch on our way home. LOVED the deep fried artichokes! Omlets were large and filled with meat and veggies. Server was great....very friendly, effecient, and welcoming. I would definatley be back. My only regret is that we did not eat here earlier in our trip so we could have eaten here... More

Happened upon this small cafe after a morning on Monterey Hydro Bikes which is close by. The cafe is small and clearly loved by regulars and locals. Friendly service and great food is their everyday fare. We had the Castroville Omelet, which featured Italian Sausage, artichokes and cheese. Served with your choice of toast and hash browns which incidentally were... More

We visited this cafe before heading out to kayak in Elkhorn Slough. The food was good, fairly priced and the service was prompt.

If you want fresh fish, this is the place for you. We go to breakfast here quite often..bring friends from out of town and it's always a hit. It's very casual and small ..great for after a morning beach stroll. Don't miss the roasted red pepper hollandaise/eggs Benedict.

We stopped in here after an AM whale watching excursion. We're so glad we did. The food was exactly what we wanted. A bit of comfort food, tasty, and felt like home cooking. Highly recommend stopping here as you pass by!

We enjoyed every dish from this unique little find starting with fried green tomatoes and ending with an amazing warm, gooey caramel brownie with ice cream. Seafood pasta was very good and steak with potato pancake was good. The owner was a delight, friendly and involved, loved what he did. Good music playing from the 60's. Memorable!
