One of the few truly classy restaurants in Thousand Oaks with a warm atmophere and vive. Menu is pricey but the quality of the food is excellent. Bar is outstanding. Wait staff in the main room can get pushy later at night trying to get...home early. Excellent location for an anniversary or other special event.More

Always have a good meal here, yes, it is high priced, but you get what you pay for! I have ordered both steak and seafood dishes and they are all cooked to perfection! They have a nice bar and great cocktails as well! Highly recommend!

I had dinner on Sunday, Sep 25. My friends paid the check with cash, while I paid my part with credit card (it was $65 for me). For my bad surprise, I checked my credit card bill today, Sep 28, and the restaurant charged me...$106 (+60% more of what I was supposed to pay).More

I'll try to be as objective as possible... Never offered bread and had to ask for it. Easily 10 minutes to get drinks after ordered. Kobe burger had zero seasoning. Very very bland. So I had to request S&P and ketchup to salvage it. Brussels...were hard and super bland, even though we asked for extra crispy. These were undercooked. Never asked for refills on water or soda. They did try to right the situation with complimentary s'mores, and that erased all previous errors until... My credit card was charged $100 over the actual bill. They fixed that after 10 min (going on 2 hours at restaurant now). Leaving restaurant, manager was right there at exit and never said a word. No acknowledgement for poor service, bland food, and errors during billing. I want to support local. Truly do. But can't go back there after all that.More

We celebrated our 24th anniversary at dinner at Holdren’s (didn't tell Holdren's) on a Saturday night. We were met by a very polite waiter who showed us to the area where guests were met and seated. We were seated in a booth indoors in the...room with the bar. We shared a small filet mignon and lobster tail with sautéed asparagus which was delicious. Our waiter, who was less smooth than the one who directed us to the table, gave us the bill before the desserts arrived. As we left, we realized that most customers were eating outside. We would recommend sitting outside if you don't feel bar noise adds to the romantic atmosphere of a booth, an orchid on your plate, and an absolutely delicious surf and turf dinner.More

Not great, not bad, perhaps a bit better than average. Halibut was pretty good, but portion on the small side. Appetizer clams had good flavor. So, if you don't have real high expectations you will probably be satisfied.

Had an excellent dinner on the patio. Reservation required, mask required, sanitizer as you enter. Staff all in gloves, masks, good separation. Watched them change all linen, wipe down table and chairs of a couple that left. Food was excellent, as it was before and...big portions. Try the calamari appetizer, included fried jalapenos!More

We reserved a table at Holdren's a few hours before our reservation time. We had indicated that we were celebrating (though we didn't say what) and we wanted a booth. When we arrived at our reservation time our booth was ready and we didn't have...to wait to be seated. Once at our table, service was great and we were served our drinks and bread in a timely manner. We then ordered and my husband and I both ordered their Tuesday night special of "Surf and Turf", which in my opinion is a fabulous deal! It came with soup or salad along with a side and a top sirloin steak and skewer of bacon wrapped prawns. We also ordered a side of sautéed mushrooms...so good! Highly recommend them! The steak was cooked to perfection, which I have found to be a common challenge for restaurants lately. The rest of the food was great and had tons of flavor. Our water glass was continually filled throughout our stay and our waitress made sure we were happy with our food and had everything we needed. At the end of our meal we were brought a Happy Anniversary cheesecake (it wasn't our anniversary). No fault of theirs, because they didn't know what we were celebrating. Nonetheless, we all had a chuckle over it. It was a wonderful way to finish off our celebration with the tasty cheesecake and acknowledgment from the staff knowing it was a special occasion. Our celebration night was perfect, thanks to Holdren's. We will be back.More

Came here on New Years eve early seating with regular menu, no happy hour on this day, I really enjoyed the dinner here. Caesar Salads were good but the Porterhouse was just delicious. perfectly cooked, great sauces to choose from. BBQ shrimp and Risotto was...good too that my wife got. Corkage was $20 pretty standard but steaks were so good as well as twice baked potato with it. I will come back.More

We had eaten at Holdren's a time or two before and had found it to have an elegance rarely found in a strip mall location, but Thanksgiving day lunch at the bar was special. Staying in the area ahead of a large family dinner, we...were looking for a light lunch to tide us over. After telephoning a number of local restaurants to find them either closed or serving only a formal and full Thanksgiving meal, we were delighted to hear on the phone a "come on over we have space at the bar." At 12:30 the restaurant was full of Thanksgiving diners but the greeting at the bar counter was as welcoming as on the 'phone. The regular menu was available and we selected two appetizers as a light lunch - grilled Artichokes and blackened Ahi sashimi (which obligingly was served unblackened). All the staff seemed very friendly and especially so when the barkeep shared that it was their busiest day of the year. The bar black is a reproduction of a classic east coast tavern and added enormously to the ambiance. The selection of wines and liquors was extensive, so extensive in fact that the barkeep also sharing that some of the liquor was rarely if ever opened for serving. The food was well presented and prepared from obviously the freshest of ingredients. Parking is exceptionally easy in a large adjacent lot shared with a hotel.More

Went there to escape the usual thousand oaks steak house. Haven't been there in years. I guess I'm glad of that fact. Opened the doors 5 minutes late of advertised to find a bar packed full of people. Bartender only attending to his crowd. That...was the first annoying fact. Second it took the bartender 10 minutes to actually acknowledge me. So I sit down next to a local and she recommends the prime rib as it is prime rib nite. I order it and I get a salad that would be subpar at a Denny's. I guess if you are in financial trouble you give them a salad that can make up the margin at every cost. Bottom line I have had a better salad at Denny's So after that I ordered the prime rib with asperagas. I was told that I had my choice of two sides. So I got 5 sprigs of asperagus Do I guess two sides equals five? Then he brings out a half burnt half medium well done small piece of prime rib. Yes people Denny's could do it better. The Supreme leader of this affair looked at me several times but did not say a word to me until I was fully out the front door. Oh by the way thanks for letting me FU. If I owned that place and saw that sh~!t I would F ing can everyone there!!!! Run be scared don't waste your money!!!!!!!!!!More
