But the food could be hotter. On my recent visit, which was my second time here, I ordered the Zuni Stew which was almost lukewarm. Previously I tried the Albacore salad which was quite good. This is definitely a local hang out and has the friendly atmosphere that goes along with that. Not easy to get to by car and... More

Cool, well run coffee shop on a quiet street. This is a popular coffee spot for locals. It's a great place to grab a coffee and a decadent dessert. There is indoor seating and an inviting patio. The service is friendly and efficient. Great spot when you want a great coffee and a sweet.

Compared to the east, in SoCal, you do not really have very good coffee shops around. Alta is different though. It has a very chilling, relaxed and interesting environment. They have a few shelves with books. You can pick and take any book you want; you just need to leave one there for others. The coffee is great. There is... More

I've given this place a try several times because I am a local resident and want to support local business but each time I was quite disappointed. The food is average to below average and the prices are ridiculous. Nearly $4.00 for a dry scone. Are you kidding? Plus the service is never good. There are plenty of other coffee... More

Average coffee, great scones, terrible rules, terrible parking, meaner than snot. One more time I tried. One more time I left feeling like my very prescence was a bother. My hipster sons go here so I broke down and gave it another try. They told me it would be different. Maybe for them. They are sun kissed, cut, Eurasian gods,... More

This is a very non-OC kind of place. Unique, genuine, good food and local flavor. We had amazing sandwiches (tuna melt, grilled veggie) and incredibly fresh salads. Even the basic garden salad was a treat. Fresh ingredients and a delicious homemade dill dressing. Great coffee drinks, too, and free refills on their delicious mango iced tea.

Amazing food for sit down or pastries. Small and quaint. Service good. Looks like they cater mostly to locals.
