We've only gone here twice and got the same thing both times. First trip, the hot turkey sandwich with dressing, mashed potatoes, and gravy sounded good. So we got it, and it was. Second trip we intended to try something else, but the memories of that turkey sandwich lingered on and we ended up getting it again. It reminds me... More

This sandwich hasn't changed in 40 years! Why change perfection? Rare, dipped, delicious. Partner always gets a Reuben or pastrami and loves it. Wish they served beer.

This wonderful casual eatery has been around Oroville a very long time and very successful. It started out tiny at a location in a bad mall front on Oro Dam Bvld E. After years there and needing more space they moved to a former Chinese restaurant location on Fifth Avenue. I admit lots of locals thought they would fail there... More

The food is good here, but the owner has a bad attitude towards his customers. He has been working for many years and it's time he step down.

Wonderful Reuben sandwich with mind-blowing fresh Horseradish. It was perfection. The banana cake with coffee buttercream frosting was literally too dry to eat, but I'm a baker so I understand that happens to the best of us. It isn't fancy, but has a cool vintage vibe. Nice service staff as well!

The food is typical hof brau fair, but don't compare to the Old Silver Dollar in Fresno our you'll be disappointed. The seating area is open and load next to the bar. I don't see that working well if more crowded than our visit. The prices were a little steep for the quantity/quality of food. And what's with the 'no... More

There is little to dislike about the Hofbrau! Great food, friendly service, and a breakfast burrito that would slow a teenager just because of the sheer yummy quantity. Sometimes I wish they were faster, it might make a hit and run lunch possible, but I'd rather plan and get an opportunity to savor the potato salad!

Operated in Oroville at least 30 years(although it's changed location to expand twice). Try their Ruben or most anything else--a real treat. Friendly.

I like this place. The food is simple but cooked well. Tri tip sandwiches, turkey sandwiches, polish and hot dogs, great soup specials and more simple, yummy food. The service is also great; the owners want to make customers happy and make an enjoyable atmosphere. If you want simple but good and clean, hang out here.
