I love the atmosphere here. It is friendly and homey and comfortable. We had great service. The entrees are a little pricey, in the $30s, but excellent so no complaints. We had the rack of lamb and short ribs at our table. The wine list is extensive so you can certainly find something that you like. The place was absolutely... More

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We were sat on time for our reservation in the main dining room. The service was excellent. The menu while it had options, really wasn't exciting. The food was just blah. Plenty of parking with 2 lots behind and across from the property.

Pro Bono is not the cheapest restaurant in this part of town - far from it. It has a very professional atmosphere and one expects absolute first rate food for the prices and general ambience. Maybe we were unlucky but left feeling we had had better value for money meals in other nearby places. The menu is weighted in favour... More

We had a wonderful meal at Cafe Pro Bono. We had a large party of 8 and they accomodated us nicely...of course make a reservation first! The food and the service were outstanding! Everyone enjoyed their food, there were no complaints. From Carpaccio, soup of the day, warm goat cheese salad, caesar salad, gnocchi, Susan's Downfall, Kebab, Veal Picatta, Rack... More

Greatly expanded their size to accommodate the local clientele. The meal and wine menus are varied, and are always first-rate.

1/2 grilled free range chicken sounded good....but it wasn't what they actually served. The dish was actually a mediocre, time 1/2 guinea hen......How can they have the gall to lie about thatg??? It was accompanied by cold vegetables....so much for our first and last visit here. The meat ball and spaghetti special was equally disappointing...the meatballs were bread balls and... More

Came for drinks with friends from work. We played a game in which we each had four unmarked glasses of wine and tried to identify the type of wine. It was harder than we thought, and it allowed us to try some wonderful California wines (a zinfandel and a Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, a pinot noir from the Sonoma... More

Recommended by friends who live in area. Was a good recommendation. Classy ambience, attentive waiters and tempting menu items. My wife said the ravioli dinner was the best she ever had, My spaghetti (which is something I often order) was good (but nothing special), That said I would rate their tiramisu 'excellent'

My husband and I have been going to an incredibly lovely Italian restaurant, called Pro Bono, in Palo Alto, CA. almost every month for over a year. It is truly one of the most welcoming places we have been to, and we eat out a lot. We always feel like we are coming home. We have gotten to know the... More

I have been going to Pro Bono for many years and just returned last night after it was remodeled. The food, ambiance, service and enthusiasm are really outstanding at this place. You are always greeted as an old friend and the menu always has new dishes to sample. I am lucky to live close to this restaurant and will return... More
