I ordered the grilled pork chop and was amazed to see that it was at least an inch thick when it arrived. My experience with thick pork chops are that they are either under cooked in the center or extremely dry. This pork chop was perfect throughout. Very tender. Very tasty. The accompanying vegetables were only so-so, or I would... More

I have been 15+ times, but always for the Sunday brunch. Certainly the best Sunday brunch in the area. Buffet style. Lots of choices, fresh food, etc.

I reserved a table at this restaurant for myself and my daughter based mainly on reviews and availability. The restaurant itself looks almost like someone's house from outside and a renovated barn from within. The selection of food was very good. I saw something for everyone. There was a fish and carving station, plenty of salads to choose from, lots... More

Two of us dined there on a Wednesday night. The spacious room was not full but nicely busy. Since we'd already had some pass-arounds at an event nearby we both opted for a light dinner of the crab cake appetizers and a caesar salad; hers with chicken, mine without. We were served bread which was warm from the oven and... More

This World War I era building next to the Palo Alto train depot has been uniquely converted to a very nice restaurant. The staff was very nice and helpful, as we met at the bar early with old friends, and then had a reunion dinner in a private room. There was also an outdoor patio for private groups. The group... Nice place with friendly staff. We had a set menu with choices - the Caesar salad was v average, the chicken or pork dishes were good. Cheesecake looked a lot better than the fruit tart. Best thing was the polite friendly service. Perhaps it would have been better ala carte?

We travel to Palo Alto every couple of years and each time we have dinner at MacArthur Park. This time we came with friends and they enjoyed the restaurant as much as we did. The service is always exceptional and the food is always delicious. We will continue to visit MacArthur Park when we are in the area.

This is a very nice place to eat dinner or have a outdoor function in the yard. Parking can be a pain, but at least they have plenty of parking in the back.

We booked the Julia Morgan room for a private event and everything turned out wonderful. Trish, one of the catering staff, was wonderful to work with and our server was efficient and friendly. The polenta sticks with tomato sauce appetizer was a hit with everyone The roasted strip loin came out medium rather than medium rare but that was the... More

WELCOME TO MACARTHUR PARK - An American BBQ Experience. Ribs and a whole lot more. MacArthur Park Restaurant, named after a Jimmy Webb song, has been a neighborhood favorite in Palo Alto since it first opened in 1981. Today's MacArthur Park has been reclaimed by its original owner and its original chef with a revitalized menu and a recent renovation of this historical landmark Julia Morgan building. Historical landmarks are permanent sign posts to a culture's community. This landmark has served the community in many incarnations: as a 1918 Hostess House for visiting families of World War I servicemen, as a community center, a veterans hall and now, once again, as the new MacArthur Park. Home is a place you love, and MacArthur Park is pleased to welcome the community back home with new dishes, old favorites and the warmest of hospitality.
