My inlaws, husband & I went for dinner last Friday. The service & staff were excellent. Everyone was super helpful & courteous. The food was so-so. There was plenty of food but most of it needed added seasoning. I would go again but would not expect a fabulous Italian meal.

This is a must stop on Hwy. 88 if you are traveling up through the Sierra foothills, the High Sierras or Lake Tahoe. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and the atmosphere down home. In addition, it is a good value for the price due to all the food you receive. Two of us ate dinner here recently on... More

The polenta board and fresh baked bread are wonderful. Homemade pasta noodles and ravioli's. All the sauces are delicious!

This quaint building has been a fixture on Highway 88 for a very long time. Inside this "once upon a time" hotel, is a family owned and operated Italian restaurant. The moment you enter, you are treated like family either by Pat or Lisa - the co-owners of this restaurant. Once you are seated, you start absorbing all the nostalgia... More

I was surprised at how cute this place is inside Ate at the bar. Nice and friendly people own this place. Polenta is served with practically everything. Food is very good.

I love Giannini's. There is nothing fancy to the restaurant but it serve great home style Italian food. They have been here for years and are friendly and treat you like family...even if it is your first visit. The look from the outside does not draw you in but do not let that stop you. It is just in an... More

We've been eating at Giannini's for over 20 years. In fact, we had our rehearsal dinner there in 1996. So it seemed fitting to have dinner there on Valentine's Day Eve. We went late, so were offered an intimate both. Our waitress was most helpful and friendly, and the food was delicious. My husband had the tortellini with pesto and I... More

I drove to Pine Grove yesterday and had another great meal. My daughter loved it and she is only 9. We usually go to Teresa's in Jackson because it is closer and they have great ambiance but the food quality here is definitely better. It is always great. We've never had a bad meal there.

We have only eaten there once can't say I would go back. The food is very old world cooking which is ok but could definitely be brought into this world and lightened and freshen up.

This place if amazing! I've been going here for years, my parents as well. Pat (the owner) is a wonderful woman. The food is amazing, straight from Italy with family recipes. The minestrone soup is delicious and the plate of polenta is always a must. Always a favorite when we visit.
