We go to the restaurant each time we visit Pismo Beach and it never fails to impress. I am always very pleased with the service.

We had dinner at The Oyster Loft for my husband's birthday. Great service, gorgeous views (book an outdoor table at sunset!), and delicious food. Servers were very friendly, informative and helpful, and checked in to make sure everything was to our liking. The Halibut and...Filet were phenomenal - beautiful presentation, unique preparation, and delicious! They also gave us dessert with a candle for my husband's birthday which was nice. Great place for a special occasion. Highly recommend!More

Started with a cocktail at the bar. Charbroiled oysters and albacore ceviche for appetizers, halibut and sablefish for entrees, and a ridiculous chocolate and peanut butter tower for dessert. Typical June fog outside, the heat lamps were on and the temperature was great. Would definitely...go back for a nice couples or friends dinner.More

We went to the oyster loft to spend a last night out with our friends. The oyster loft pretends to be a fine dining, but coming from Europe fine dining comes with a nice table cloths, bread ,butter ,olive oil or an amuse geulle. You wont...find this here! I ordered the risotto .For 28Dollars you get a tiny tiny portion.Literally 2 table spoons! When we mentioned this to the waitress, she called her manager who explained: 'Our Entres are:French style!' French style? Has this lady ever been to France? The waitress walked away with an evil smile. That did not impress me! The taste of the risotto was ok, but not outstanding. The oysters, fish and steak tasted good, but the prices are far to high and these 'french style' portions are ridiculous.I was hungry! They didn't care really about our complaint and walking away with a face like she did,was very unprofesssional!More

Food was decent. What you're paying for is the view if you are able to dine on the balcony. Service was solid and attentive. Not a great spot for smaller kids, even though they have an off-the-menu option for kids. Oysters were fresh and good.

After seeing solid reviews, we chose Oyster Loft for our anniversary dinner. We made a reservation thru Open Table, and arrived a bit early. They took us in within minutes, hoping to accommodate our request for a quiet table. Comedically, the speakers for the restaurant...below, and the Oyster Loft, were both by our table. Not a big deal, considering our server was so much fun, accommodating, and personable. We ordered the Tuna Tataki for an appetizer (a must get), and were blown away by the perfect blending of bold flavors with delicate textures. The drinks came quickly, too. For our main course, we had the Sablefish (with a tangy broth/sauce) and the halibut, both of which were perfectly prepared to spotlight the fresh fish. Nice view of the pier, public areas, beach and ocean, too. Overall, the experience was an A+. The cost was about $80 per person, but we were out for a rare big night...and, while it's a small thing, the clean bathrooms were a nice plus. Definitely will go back!More

Our last visit to the Oyster Loft was very memorable (views, food and service) so I was hoping we wouldn't be disappointed - which we weren't. The food was just as good as I remembered and the views were still gorgeous (maybe more so now...the pier is finished). The waiter recommended the tuna sashimi starter and the flavours were amazing and it was very delicious. I can also recommend the halibut main course which was superb. My partner had the mushroom tortellini and it was very dense in flavour (in a good way!) and completely gorgeous. A real upgrade for the vegetarian option. The wines are also very good and local. A fabulous meal and we can't wait to go back another time. This is rightly the no 1 restaurant and it was the best meal on our trip (again).More

If this is the best restaurant in Pismo Beach (and this is what we were told according to the many reviews) then I would say don't stop in Pismo Beach. A very expensive limited menu leaves no room for error, but they mucked up all...over the place. It took us well over an hour to get our mains and I had to finally get cross with our waiter before he lit a fire under the kitchen. I had the appetizer octopus for my main and it literally was three small pieces of pulpo with two small potatoes for $16 -- crazy! When we asked for some bread because we were literally starving, we were told -- no bread was to be had -- what restaurant has no bread service??? Get some rolls people. Absolutely not worth the visit.More

After spending a lot of time online reviewing restaurants in the Pismo Beach area I chose Oyster Loft for my partner's birthday dinner because she loves oysters. I booked a window table and an early time to be sure and see the sunset. The sunset...certainly did not disappoint. It was one of the most beautiful we have ever seen. We had already made our menu choices from the online menu before selecting this restaurant because they had both raw oysters on the half shell as well as crab cakes. The oysters were very good. But we were very disappointed to find out that the crab cakes were not being offered and there were no other main course shell fish selections available the night we were there. So instead of a main course we just ordered a beet salad which turned out to be very mediocre both in the presentation and taste. We asked for bread to go with the salad and the waiter told us, "We do not offer a bread service". So, at that point we decided to leave. After presenting the check the waiter must have remembered it was a birthday and he said he had something else for us. A few minutes later he presented a scoop of ice cream in a waffle type shell with a lit candle that turned out to be the highlight of the dinner. All of the other places we ate in the Pismo Beach/ Morro Bay area were excellent. Oyster Loft was sadly our least favorite.More
